Protontricks install out of date on bazzite
Hey guys I just wanted to bring to the dev teams attention that the current installed version of proton tricks that comes with bazzite is out of date and is from last year. I got around this by installing the flat pack version but think you guys should be made aware of this. Thank you guys for this awesome distro.

We install the RPM packaged by Fedora, 1.11.1 is coming with Fedora 40
So does that mean this is an in purpose thing? Sorry I’m pretty new to Fedora. I don’t know how often they update packages 😅
Most packages only change major versions with new releases. So yeah, it's intended. The weird part is protontricks thinking it's something the user needs to be notified about. The devs must all be Arch users 😏
Then again, the protontricks GitHub pages recommends using the Flatpak. Might be worth Bazzite considering dropping the Fedora package in favour of installing the Flatpak instead.
If only to avoid the user getting pop-ups about out of date versions 😅
if we use a standard fedora package, it will update whenever fedora updates it. we try avoid packaging things ourselves unless we have to.
