How do I build a style/capsule with my Pinterest?

https://pin.it/3Lpsnt1b5 I've been working on my style for maybe two years now, I'm heading to college and want to build a sort of capsule/aesthetic. I use pinterst to pick fits I like but I can't seem to find a common thread. I'm also on the shorter side and I train martial arts so clothes fit differently. I am hoping for recommendations for cheaper brands to check out and maybe someone with a good eye can better analyze my pins. I live in Europe so ordering from American or british stores is a hassle. Male vintage also seems as expensive as ready-to-wear sadly and I don't see unique pieces worth splurging on.

i will acknowledge that finding a 'capsule' and an 'aesthetic' are two separate things; one deals with an objective number and the other a subjective theme that is conveyed super broad strokes from the board - lots of denim, a mix of sneakers and loafers, some pseudo-ivy styles. the streetwear/prep mix is very aime leon dore coded and people like @smiles do that well imo

if you're looking for primarily a capsule wardrobe to get by check the basic bastard here is a good start. you'll want to adjust based on your own climate but the only other thing i'd really add is lighter wash denim. https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/how-the-basic-wardrobe-has-changed-de0
How the basic wardrobe has changed: a 2023 supplement to a 2016 MFA...
There are a lot of newcomers to MFA who don't know where to start, or, folks who used to read MFA back in 2013-2017 then get confused when the pieces that were touted as "timeless and classic" aren't seen as very fashionable today. The Building a Basic Wardrobe

cheaper brands here is just gonna be thrifting/ebay. @zeometer is right, its a very ALD and prep-streetwear mix coded. Lot of this stuff is available used. Especially from Ralph Lauren, which would be the main brand I'd look for used stuff from.

if you're looking to develop your style that takes a little more effort (see here: https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/developing-personal-style). keep looking for inspiration pictures, especially in #waywt where you can also get context from the person wearing the outfit, and keep asking questions (ether in #questions-and-advice or #styling-suggestions) and when in doubt, :post::fit:

i think this is overthinking it, he has inspiration, he just needs clothes. The answer here is just shop used. Not really anything else to say, this stuff is easy to get used. As for finding clothes that fit right, thats just learning sizing and you're own measurements.

is Vinted available in your country? I would try there if so. Some brands to look for that fit this style and should be pretty readily available for cheap are: COS Polo Ralph Lauren as mentioned Abercrombie Arket Massimo Dutti Zara Reiss Also I keep sharing this great doc / list of EU brands that someone made a while back haha https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1212368672363118613/1212368672363118613 Mostly maybe on the higher end of the price-range, but some good brands to add to the 2nd hand searches!

Nearly everything I've bought in the last year has been from Vinted so don't be put off by one bad experience! :) Just gotta be careful looking at the photos and the seller's reviews. It can be a gold mine for real bargains
