bazzite won't boot game mode to external drive - legion go
I am trying to install bazzite to an external drive. I first tried an sd card to learn the lgo won't boot them directly, and so I tried an adapter and it would complete the install but then it would get stuck on the onboarding install app. I manually installed decky and such, and then went to boot into game mode from the desktop icon.
Goes to a black screen, and only a cursor would load. I tried to cmd alt f1 and f2 and could not escape into terminal.
Tried to reinstall, same issue.
So then I thought maybe it's too slow via adapter, and went to a samsung ssd external.
Same exact issues with failure to install onboarding apps, and eventually black screen when booting into desktop game mode icon that can't be escaped.
Is it possible to run decky on the LGO in game mode with an external hard drive? I am not looking to dual boot onto my internal, so I had it auto format the entire drive during install.

Legion Go has known firmware level issues with booting an external drive
I understand, is it possible with debugging or should I give up? The install works fine and bazzite does load, I just can't boot into game mode
I'm not aware of anyone getting this working properly
Might be useful to have logs of this
but I can't promise it's fixable
How can I pull logs for you because I have bazzite fully loading, it just seems to have an issue of getting game mode specifically working, desktop works fine
gamescope session makes logs in your home dir as hidden files
~/.gamescope*
and then a dmesg after the failed load might also help
can do that with control + alt + f4, then
sudo dmesg | fpaste
and share the link hereOk ill try but I can't see to escape the cursor screen
that key combo puts you in a TTY
which is a simple text terminal
if that doesn't work it's definitely too far gone
Got it I'll get it going
