Carry on travel packing essentials
I tend to over pack on trips. So I was wondering what are some of y’all go to for traveling, knowing that you might be trekking thru the city or getting dirty but also going out to club/bars/ restaurants at night? And for warm and cooler climates? The packing list/videos I usually see will have you looking like you work at REI. I usually try to bring a roller carry on and a 28 liter backpack for my headphones, electronics etc. But I’m interested in clothes that easily lockable but are also suitable to go out with.

Skincare, extra underwear & socks, gum, painkillers, and those lil stain remover sticks are essential imo.
Idk if I understand the last part of your question tho. Are you looking for like, suggestions for commuter techwear type stuff? Or are you asking if that kind of clothing is necessary?
curious about how long of a trip this is intended for and what exactly is meant by "trekking through the city"
there's some more specific things to be said based on the above but for the most part i don't have any specialized travel clothes - if i go out i usually wear a jacket, ocbd, chinos/jeans and black loafers and am good to go in most cases. beyond that i bring enough other stuff (underwear, undershirts, sneakers to walk in, an extra shirt or two and sleepwear) to last until i leave or get laundry
I travel a lot and never pack more than a small carry-on and small 20L backpack for anything less than a month (most of my trips are between 1-3 weeks). My packing list for clothes usually includes 3 to 5 t shirts, a casual jacket of some sort, 2 pairs of pants (black or grey, and a pair of jeans), and 2 pairs of shorts and a couple of shirts for working out. Maybe a couple of collared shirts and a blazer plus a nicer pair of shoes if I'm meeting with a really conservative client or plan on going to a place that has a dress code. That includes what I'm wearing onto the plane, so most times I can get actually get everything into the backpack if I wanted to - I typically do this if I don't plan on doing any real work while traveling. Lots of hotels offer laundry service or you could just wash stuff in the shower/sink if you have to. Occasionally I need something at the last minute, in which case I'll just buy something from wherever I'm at.
Trekking meaning, just going through the city on touristy, maybe a excursion in warmer spots. I’m just wondering how much and how y’all fit it all
So just two pairs of shoes you bring?
i mostly just bring my usual clothes; my last trip was a long weekend that i got by packing everything in a large tote bag - an oxford, sweater, coat, jeans, pair of chinos, couple of undershirts, a pair of shorts/shirt for the air bnb and two shoes
if it's colder i'd bring a heavier coat and if it's warmer i'd bring a lighter jacket but otherwise i'm a consistent pack (short of specific activities like someone's wedding or actual hiking)
i usually only pack up to a week's worth of clothes max, beyond that i'm usually in a place that has laundry and i just rewear things after washing.
Yep, pack one and wear one
