API latency increased when "proxied" is turned on in DNS Settings

Hi, I was just benchmarking our APIs & found that there is an additional increase of 4-5 seconds in the API especially for our upload image call. My server is located in AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai, India) and after running the cdn-cgi/trace on our proxied domain I found that we are getting redirected to United States or East Africa.

I've attached two images that shows the benchmark between proxied and non-proxied. Is there anything we can do about it as it affecting our app in production.

Take a look here to see why the Cloudflare datacenter you are routed towards isn't always the closest geographically: https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/learning/cdn/glossary/anycast-network/

Looks like by upgrading to PRO we could decrease API latency as it would route to a center within our country
