Desktop NVIDIA - GreenWithEnvy "NV-CONTROL X extension not found", no NVIDIA settings. Gaming works
I get this strange error when opening GreenWithEnvy, as stated in the post title. I'm also strangely missing these settings when I type "nvidia-settings" into the terminal (Ptyxis, the error log is pictured as well). When I first booted up I made sure the nvidia stuff in the first-run utility was installed, so this surprised me.
I installed Resident Evil 3 Remake (DX11 version) through Steam and it ran fine in 4K with 15GB of VRAM being used, even VRR was working when I set Adaptive Sync to Automatic under Configure Display Settings. So the GPU clearly can be used to it's fullest potential in-game for this OS install, why are the settings missing? What's with the errors? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks π

randomly read this and tried it https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1225568227728556134/1225578430842671124 and it fixed the missing settings as well as the GreenWithEnvy error. I do still get this one error in the terminal with nvidia-settings but I dont know if it'll impact anything

that "error" in the terminal is meaningless even thought it makes it sound like it isnt
this error only shows because of wayland right?
i really am considering switching the nvidia images back to X11 by default for 40
dont know the specific reason but i know if the application works and its a generic "glib" error it usually means nothing
yet to see an error from it that looks like that which caused any issues
