Why are so many contract positions I'm being emailed about w2 only? Is there a financial advantage to w2 over 1099 for staffing firms?

financial not so much, but they have more control over your hours on w2
even with staffing firm
it's more competitive

Thanks. It's annoying because my main reason for contract over FTE is the business deductions.
Side note: Strange that I can click into the thread, but the thread doesn't show for me in #🤔|questions

Remember everything is negotiable. If their client wants you, they will bend over backwards to close the deal. Go through the interview process and pitch the idea of c2c after an offer is made. Suggest you are weighing other options, and c2c would make your decision easier. Worst they can say is no. And if they do, nothing wrong with W2.

For technical writing it is 95% W2 unfortunately; I keep wanting to tell them to swallow me if I get an offer, I'll do 1099 only, but I haven't done any interviews this year so far; been lazy
