Warp Teams Zero-Trust Device profile based on Device ID
I am trying to use device profiles feature of Cloudflare Warp/Zero-Trust for Teams.
As per the name, we should be able to apply different warp profiles to different devices.
But the only options we get to differentiate those devices are these:
User email
User group emails
User group IDs
User group names
Operating system
Operating system version
Managed network
SAML Attributes
There's no device specific option. How am i supposed to apply a profile to a specific device?
The operating system is too generic. Even the Operating system version can be same on 2 different devices and it can even change when the OS upgrades on the device. The User specific options apply to all the devices for that user.
I would love if there was an option for Device ID here, since warp actually assigns each device a unique ID and it is shown in My Team-> Devices-> Device Details

I recently upgraded my PopOS distro to latest kernel 6.8.0, which also changed my Device OS version in warp to 6.8.0, so i had to manually update my WARP Profile to include that device OS version.
You can make a list of serial numbers and use this for posture, that would be device specific. It’s a shame you can’t use something similar for the profiles
That maybe possible for posture check, but I'm using profiles to basically have different warp modes for my different devices.
Some have it set to "Proxy mode", some have "warp only without dns", etc.
So I really kind of need the profiles feature of warp since some of the new modes likes "warp only without dns" can not be set on the client side, since there is no option in the gui and cli.
Yeah that’s annoying, I don’t think this is possible at the moment.
I guess this is quite a unique thing tho most people would do it per os.
You should raise a feature request with Cloudflare
