Errors Rebasing from Silverblue 39
attatched pic of what happens when I try to rebase from silverblue
@nickname heres what i was talkin bout,
Do i just needa uninstall the nvidia akmod driver?
doing an rpm-ostree reset rendered the system unusable, just got a black screen after disk decryption password was entered.
Additionally i do have:SSD, UEFI compative, x86_64 and Nvidia gtx 2000 series

can i get the output of
rpm-ostree status
🫡
it's probably that nvidia layered package
oh god yeah most of that could be removed actually
word yea ima smite it rq
bazzite/ublue has most of that
yeah, I would save your package list and then rpm-ostree reset
then rebase
and then layer on anything you might be missing afterward
I think quite literally everything you've layered is included here
yeah woulda been dope to find out about bazzite before i spent hours and hours figuring out how to install all the codecs and rpm fusion and gpu driver stuff manually lmoa
LOL
I am fixing a fun terminal crash right now with Ptyxis
so maybe hold offanother 30 min max
it was p fun tho and i learned a lot haha
i will try the ostree reset again and see if it fares better this time
thank yall i will report back 🫡
well you'll probably want to wait longer lol. write down your package list and read some docs and stuff. our default terminal is having issues rn
should be fixed shortly though
i mean worst case scenario
oooh wait like yall are the actual devs hahah omg
you rebase to bazzite and then an update will resolve that
yeah kyle is the head of this project
i write the docs
damnnn hahah i was thinkin he meant was fixin crash on personal system i see
thank u for such fast help wow
in the meantime ima run some hyperdemon haha trying to break the 100sec barrier
soi been finanglin haha
spent like 2 hours tryna figure out why rpm-ostree reset renders system unable to mount when decrypting
google searches yeilded info that it was perhaps due to incomplete uninstall of nvidia drivers, however following their solutions did not seem to solve
lowkey i might just fedora media installer bazzite onto a usb and fresh install it over silverblue
cuz i dont even have any important files or anything on here anyway, those are all on my kinoite drive i just started testing silverblue like 2 days ago and find i love the gnome ui way more than kde
but ima try to just straight up rebase 1 more time and see how that goes and if not then media writer it is
but yo, immutable containerized design is straight up amazing
it feels so freeing being able to just bork everything with no fear at all
and then instantly rollback in 1 command in under a minute
yep ok fresh install is the way lol
And we setup 🫶🤩 simply reformat drive and install fresh is the solution lol
