VRR HDMI Legion Go
It's posible to enable this with Bazzite using a dock?
On Windows I can enable it from Adrenaline, I saw that it's needed to enable a toggle from desktop mode but there's no option there, I'm currently using Bazzite Deck KDE image

should allow you to enable it in Game Mode in Steam's quick access menu
in desktop mode it should also work too
but im not sure how well KDE plasma's implementation compares to Windows
That's the issue it says that the display is not compatible on Steam QAM, but it seems that it's not detected as I can enable it on Windows
oh
:clueless:
There is no Adrenaline on Linux
but like that shouldn't matter
it should be able to detect that your display has VRR support and allow you to enable it
keep this thread up and wait for someone who has a ally tbh
i dont own a handheld
i figured this all should work but handheld PCs are weird
sorry i mostly am familiar with the desktop images of bazzite, but someone im sure will know whats going on
tons of people in the discord with the ally
@LieDanG oooooo
HDMI yea
do you have a displayport cable by any chance?
HDMI on linux cannot really do VRR
hdmi is kind of shitty when it comes to stuff like this

HDMI Forum to AMD: No, you can’t make an open source HDMI 2.1 driver
Linux users can't hit the same resolutions and speeds as Windows—or DisplayPort.
I was reading about that, from what I understand the dock converts the DP signal to HDMI, so not really sure if the AMD driver issue still applies since the signal sent from the Legion should be DP
My dock is a JSAUX HB0801S so no DP port anyway to test
Displayport supports the HDMI protocol, I don't think it's done in the dock
Sucks
Found something, someone using a similar dock gets VRR correctly working

I already contacted JSAUX support to see if they can help me to find out what's going on
In the end it was a firmware issue, I ended up flashing a firmware uploaded on that gitlab thread and finally I got VRR/Freesync working using HDMI
I don't think it's related but I noticed I can't select 120hz on Game Mode, if I switch to desktop I can select 120hz but if I return to Game Mode I only get 60hz max
