Blanket Recommendations
Hello everyone. I’d like to ask for recommendations on quality blankets. I have only a few preferences:
- There is color. I would prefer embrace of color to the the current zeitgeist of the beiges and pale other-colors of minimalism.
- Ornate patterns and illustrations are very welcome. It can be the traditional textiles and patterns of the Middle East, the quaint nature textiles of William Morris or something modern.
- Minimalism isn’t necessary unwelcome.
I am based in Tokyo. As long as the shop ships globally, it doesn’t matter where they’re based. Plus, it’s Tokyo: everything is here so if it’s a quality brand, there’s a good chance they have stockists here. No price limit; only new products.
Some samples to give some idea of preferences and direction.
While minimalist in form, I love these 2 because of the boldness of the colors:

you can't go wrong with the Project Cybersyn blanket:
but honestly, I think feel is such a huge part of it that you can't really pick something without actually handling it unless it's purely decorative and won't be used much
I would definitely much prefer being able to handle it in person, but I’m only open to not so to expand options. I might have already purchased either of the two in my top post if I could see it in person.
ok I'm partial to indigofera x (I can't remember who but they're skulls/skeletons and sold at Standard & Strange) for decorative
and wool heritage americana brands for normal
like pendleton and woolrich and faribault
Since you're in Tokyo, check out Snow Peak
I don't know if they'll have Tokyo stockists but there's a heritage maker in Wales who make beautiful blankets that are built like tanks. I have a couple that are getting on for 90 years old.
