My friend is saying that Phoenix sucks rn and that he isn't that good of an agent. Is this true?
I'm curious since I main him.

Every agent has their uses, and it's better to play an agent you know really well as opposed to one who's kit you haven't learned yet
So agents arent good or bad
He's not played as often as the other duelists nowadays, sure, but if you like his kit then by all means stick with him
Agents are situational. As you play you learn what agents fit with others better, and how their kit can help the team
Can you OTP a character?
Like, if you have a team that doesn't have any flashes, you'd want phoenix because he does. Ideally you want a team that covers each base of what you need to win
I'd recommend learning a few agents so you have some flexibility just in case someone else locks phoenix or you have two duelists on the team already
But you can definitely main him
to answer your question more broadly
yes, he is a good agent

2 flashes to get kills
a molly block stuff and can heal u
a wall to make space and also heals u
ult is very easy to get
Ohh okay
@hLo853 @Kamikaze but agents like kayo/harbor arent good?
Or are they also good
Evry agent is good in their own way
its not that good for most
Harbor is good if u know how to use it
Some agents people will say are "bad" either because they're not 'meta' right now or that person just doesn't play them well
its decently hard to learn how to use some agents effectively
And if u also have a omen on the team ofc
So if someone is good with the character, there cant be any bad characters in the game
It's more about if the agent is "good" for you and your playstyle, rather than "good" overall
Ah its not like League then
Seems like WR matters way less
Pretty much. Everyone used to call Yoru trash and then Ethos started shitting on everyone with him
But yeah some agents are just bad or there are better options
For e.g u mentioned phoenix. He can't make space for the team on entry like a jett or raze
There is a reason its pickrate is so low
Yeah but even then he like never has a low winrate
phoenix is literally the best solo q agent
If you're winning with him I reckon keep him. Just make sure you have a backup agent
He is definitely not
The solo carry potential with phoenix is not even that good
But what if I wanted to reach Diamond with Phoenix only, is that feasible? Or should I just play Jett/Raze and have an easier time creating space?
Cause Phoenix is way more fun but if Jett/Raze just does his job better I should just play them then?
I personally wouldn't play phoenix to rankup
There are just better options
But if u alrdy have a space maker on the team then sure u can take phoenix

again it's more about picking an agent you're comfortable with and can play well, but also trying to make sure you can provide something your team needs
If your team has a duelist that can't take space pick one who can, but if they do, go for phoenix
But there's no point locking in an agent if you can't use their kit
Yeah im thinking its like League where OTPs are rampant
But it seems like that isnt the case
Oh yeah nowhere near that bad
tbf league has how many agents now?? I can't imagine how many have been made obsolete
Oh alot
I guess the character matters way more
With val however players usually fall into one of two categories:
Either they main 1-3 agents and immediately lock them because they know their kit super well and just love that (or those) agents
or they're former/current fill mains who can play every agent to a reasonable level. They may prefer a small pool of agents, but they'll usually be able to slot in anywhere
I don't know of a lot of cases, outside pro players/streamers (Brush-Viper, Jonas-Sova) who solely lock one agent all the time
Gotcha
yeah i only play reyna, pheonix and skye
