I know this is only officially supported on window at the moment, but wondering if anyone has had success setting this up on bazzite via wine or other work around.

Hey funny enough I was looking into this just the other day. As far as I know there is no way to do this using SteamVR directly, and VD doesn't work on linux. There is this project https://github.com/alvr-org/ALVR that is an opensource version. You would install the server on your bazzite computer, and the client through sidequest on your quest. I have not tried this yet myself, but from doing a bit of reading this morning I think it should work. I'll let you know if I have any success

Hey, any success yet?
not op that posted about ALVR but i was actually curious if you can do vr on linux and so i tried ALVR and have had success.
ALVR requires pipewire which is already installed on bazzite. the way i figured that out was while trying to install pipewire i decided to look through the commands list using ujust and i noticed that there is an update-pipewire command. now for me using the quest 2 all i had to do was install the ALVR software from META's own store, install and use a software just to interact with pipewire (i didn't even have to do anything with that software, i just selected the first GUI i could see on the software center), make sure and set my audio in/out to ALVR, and i had to type in a command into steamVR to get it to show me something else besides a black screen and it works
picture quality is a little so-so but i'm assuming that's cause i haven't really dialed in my settings to the ALVR software so ill continue messing with settings but the software does work.
What command in steam vr
I think I got to the point where I could only see a black screen on the headset but the headset movement was streamed to the game on the pc (so that if I would look around in game, the game which was displayed on my main monitor would respond, aka move the camera, but on the headset itself was just a black screen). I put my headset away a while ago, so I don’t know if that was the last state I had of getting it to work.
It's this command: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamVR/bin/vrmonitor.sh %command%
I would try it again before putting the command in because the GitHub does say that the first black screen usually happens but should work after that but the command is there if it's a black screen after the first time.
ohh and btw the command goes in the launch options for steam vr
