What specifically are you wanting? What’s your budget?
That style is generically a Chelsea, but the particular pattern you’ve got is a little off-beat. There’s not many patent (read: shiny) leather chelseas around, but a sleek black calf chelsea could probably make the cut for a tux, traditionalists-be-damned.
My budget i would say is around doc martens/ solovairs but willing to pay extra for the right pair
Ive been looking at Chelsea boots too but looking for something a bit more formal for Those special occasions.
Docs are what? Like 260 tops last I saw a pair?
In terms of nicer shoes, you could take a look at Beckett Simonon or Meermin for a black calf Chelsea. Other usual suspects are Yanko / skolyx. Bridlen might have Chelsea’s, and BLKBRD does (but I don’t suggest BLKBRD as a first-go).
Allen Edmonds or Cobbler Union ought to come below $300 on sale - but I’d only get those on sale.
