What is your question here? Personally I moved from Namecheap to Cloudflare. The transfer code was not instant - it took a few hours to come through, I think it may have been overnight

Transferring doesn't cost money inherently. Cloudflare charges you for a years' worth of your domain registration at the time of transfer, but they aren't charging you for the transfer itself.

I mean ICANN's policy requires extending the domain by a year on transfer, not like CF/all registries just decide to do that, and it's up to Registries if they want to charge extra fees, so there is always some cost

Right right of course ty Chaika. I was just trying to explain the "costs" with a transfer aren't inherently a cloudflare specific behavior, but you explained it better 🙂 The transfer itself isn't what is costing you money, it's the mandatory renewal process
