screen tearing problems🥲
I have a good CPU, but the monitor just sucks (the monitor is an Acer, V196HQL). I recently got a laptop which was a windows 10, and decided to download valorant, the funny thing was that it worked with absolutely no frame drops, fps drops and no lagging experience. I wondered why my PC which was expensive lagging and stuff. I believe that it is screen tearing that it is happening

If you want to reduce screen tearing you should probably turn on vsync or limit your fps
To be honest, I tried those solution yet, it had little outcome
Should I just buy a monitor?
is ur fps going too high beyond ur monitor refresh rate?
cap ur fps
Well yess, then it dramatically goes down
or use features like amd freesync or nvidia gsync
Then, it won't maintain, literally causes FPS drops and such
I was thinking of many possible problems..
Like my mouse
Screen tearing
My PC
screen tearing is usually caused by too high or too low fps
Well yea, I've noticed, since I had a butterfly knife, screen tearing would go crazy on that knife
@liorssshuo can you give me a list of all your pc components
Uhh, wait, I'll try, since it was custom maid
Made*
oh
seems like the problem is ur monitor
ur monitor response time is too slow
gtg and mprt both response time matters
But, as i can see, ASUS B85-Pro gamer, ASUS stuff
Hold on
Let me just take a picture
(Sorry if its dusty, i haven't used it for months..)
💀
Yea, the monitor was from my father's work place, it was only a 2nd hand..
Is there something wrong..?
wait
is your pc on by any chance?
the monitor just sucks
or can you turn it on
Oh no..
5ms with vrb LOL
I can't turn it on
i mean yeah the monitor is ass but frame drops can be a pc issue
My wire is snapped I'll have to buy another 1...
also
is that
a singular ram stick? 💀
Not me getting confused if he is showing the case or the monitor
dual channel left the chat
I honestly don't know
Since, it's a 2nd hand from my brother
Comparison to my Work laptop
He just gave me this pc because idk?
Show ur specs
Can't open my pc
defo looks like 1 stick-> hefty performance loss(especially in cpu based games) due to no dual channeö
Why?
Wire... problems
..
Dual channel?
Using 2 ram slots
ugh yeah
also why that ram stick looks so weird
Trust me, I'm more confused that I'm already am
Should i buy another ram?
If that would fix it
yes
If i were to say, What kind? (Do make it budgetable)
also two ram sticks with same die is recommended
first id say you should get your pc up and running
Noted..
aka get your new wire or whatevs it needs to start up
Aight
from there we can proceed with what your pc needs(maybe a pair of ram sticks)
The problem is, the cost🥲
Well i can afford
Do you have anything to recommend me?
we can figure out recommendations and such after we know what kind of specs your pc has
before that i would not advise buying any parts
except a new wire or whatever to get your pc to start
ddr3 ram sticks are pretty cheap nowadays
anything that is from sk hynix, micron(crucial), samsung
Tbh, it might take a couple of days.. my father said that he would get it fixed, due to the wire that he messed up.., so that wont worry me, just the problem here is.. The monitor or ether the ram
most of the time ram sticks never die
Ohh, i kinda see the ram stick
well the frame drops are likely caused by the lack of a second ram stick but screen tearing is kind of a different story
Is it possible to buy 3 more (including the other 1) so that It could fit like 4?
Gee, didn't know where we got now
does your motherboard have 4 ram stick slots?
Oh yes
cause in the picture it looked like it only has 2
yes, this one^
Sooo basically, if my m.b has 4 slots, I can fit 4 more Rams that can literally make my pc better?
even it has 4 slots, its not recommended on every system
Oh?
plus if its ddr3 i would never buy more than 2
Judging from the wiring inside... let me guess, I'll have to call a tech?
only mobos that were designed for 4 ram sticks are recommended(t-top)
and ur memory controller isnt ass
installing ram sticks is like legos
just follow a tutorial on yt
Oh?
also make sure to unplug your pc from power when replacing ram or any other component
Noted!
Is buying a ram online, be a good option?
Since I'm seeing alot, of reviews of valorant
Lmaoo
Just make sure to buy identical sticks
Don’t mix and match them
^^
I know this maybe a dumb question, but forgive me. Why:Gekko_Wingman_Cry:
It’s a very valid question actually, it has to do with some ram sticks not being compatible with each other which can cause the system not to boot
Oooo:Iso_Wow: :Iso_Wow:
Some ram do work with each other from different brands but even then you can get problems like the system using the worse of the two or the timings mismatching etc
Basically in general just buy identical ones to avoid any problems
^^
Honestly, i would really like to thank you for giving me your time and help (also one of the main problems, rather than the Current one) Gee, you people are more helpful than the techs that I have mentionedðŸ˜
The last thing I'll probably do is buy a new ram
Or another 1 that it is
The same
BUT
With the current and main problem, should I buy a new monitor after buying a Ram?
depends
enable that vrb feature
and see
Am i seeing angels:val_KekwSob:
if screen tearing is still that much noticeable like before or not
:val_KekwSob:
Actuallyyy, The only reason why I asked for help if the screen tearing may happen to be related to my main problem (FPS drops(
screen tearing shouldnt cause fps drops
Oh..
fps drops can however be the cause of screen tearing
yeah
yep
Oh geez, sorry for causing an amount people joining in this problemðŸ˜
One last and Easiest question
Or maybe 2
Hehe
1. I'd like to buy a Ram that it is online (due to laziness and an uncertain amount of task), which type of ram, in the online district would help me. Oh, don't worry about the other ram, I'll get 2/4, just in case
most offline stores dont sell ddr3 ram sticks anymore
Oh? How come?
and ig u have 4th gen cpu
so
ddr3 1600mhz
Ight ight
very outdated
Well it kinda depends where you live but in general they just aren’t in demand anymore in more modern places
If no one is buying then no point in selling
Is that a bad thing or a good thing, gee never knew knew this could be suspensing
neither
depends on ur needs
Just did a search and comparisoon, is Kingstong a good one?
I mean a good ram*
I personally don't like Kingston
Is this based on experience, or opinion, rather..
kingston likes to mix different dies for one sku
thats why people dont like
especially those going to overclock their ram
Overclock their ram? May i Inquire to know why?
faster speeda
Ah..
where do u live in
just search ddr3 1600mhz dimm ram
Confidentially, I'd say no, country-wise; Philippines
on 2nd hand market/online shopping platforms
Oh my... is it a crime just to literally type "ram stick"
returned results would pretty much be useless
shopee, lazada and maybe carousell
Honestly, with a current ram I have, it can hold LoL (still lags but it's avrg)
With valorant, it's slow speed but once your in the game, it could manage...
Well lol is designed to run on korean internet cafés
It’s also a much simpler game rendering wise
Tbh, I'm just looking for a budgetable ram stick, that literally can just help me play
With no lag, so that whenever I have an excuse, i literally can't say it's lag..
Anyway, there's ramsta, Kingston, samsung, crucial, codram
Everyone still does :val_KekwSob:
samsung, crucial, sk hynix
Sk hynix? I've heard that before
u will never gone wrong with these 3
Wait
its ddr3, so, just get the best u can get
I really really wanna just say thank you
To uhm.. the people that have helped me
On a basis of 5-7
Thank you thank youu so much for the given information
Basically everyone buys from them in order to make their ram
Bit of a background player but they do make their own ram too
"Order to make their ram"..?
sk hynix has the top tier ddr5 dies right now :val_KEKW:
Yeah so other ram manufacturers get parts for their ram from them
I'm getting confusions
1. There's so much missing vocab
2. Whats the difference between ddr3 ddr4 ddr5
Oh god
theyre three manufacturers that make ram dies
crucial is basically micron
I'm jotting down notes..
u need ddr3
The speed, voltage and latency is different
This tech stuff.. is sooooo🥲
But not every motherboard and cpu can handle the newer ones
ddr3 has slower frequency but lower latency ddr5 has higher frequency but higher latency
So not much point in getting it
Noted and noteds!
I personally have ddr5 with cl30 latency
It feels like I'm taking a lesson.. go on
Also, I'd be happy to buy Samsung/Sk hynix
Would it be possible that you CAN identify a ram?
If it is.. you already what I'm going to ask
Not sure what you are referring to here
Like
If you were to look at a specific ram, you'd know that this belongs to Samsung
theres sticker on it
Or either kingstop and chuchu
if u want to know more information, look at the part numbers
and search for its datasheet
It's a sign that I'm not cutout to be a tech geek... anyway stickers like blue or green?
it looks like this bruh
u can clearly see
whos the manufacturer
Alrightts!
That'd be all, thank you again!🫶
u can even check what die is it, if the picture is clear enough
and the long bold texts are the part numbers
Mhm, noted
