screen tearing problems🥲

I have a good CPU, but the monitor just sucks (the monitor is an Acer, V196HQL). I recently got a laptop which was a windows 10, and decided to download valorant, the funny thing was that it worked with absolutely no frame drops, fps drops and no lagging experience. I wondered why my PC which was expensive lagging and stuff. I believe that it is screen tearing that it is happening

If you want to reduce screen tearing you should probably turn on vsync or limit your fps

liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
To be honest, I tried those solution yet, it had little outcome Should I just buy a monitor?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
is ur fps going too high beyond ur monitor refresh rate? cap ur fps
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Well yess, then it dramatically goes down
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
or use features like amd freesync or nvidia gsync
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Then, it won't maintain, literally causes FPS drops and such I was thinking of many possible problems.. Like my mouse Screen tearing My PC
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
screen tearing is usually caused by too high or too low fps
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Well yea, I've noticed, since I had a butterfly knife, screen tearing would go crazy on that knife
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
@liorssshuo can you give me a list of all your pc components
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Uhh, wait, I'll try, since it was custom maid Made*
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
oh seems like the problem is ur monitor ur monitor response time is too slow gtg and mprt both response time matters

My wire is snapped I'll have to buy another 1...
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
also is that a singular ram stick? 💀

defo looks like 1 stick-> hefty performance loss(especially in cpu based games) due to no dual channeö

Using 2 ram slots
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
ugh yeah also why that ram stick looks so weird
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Trust me, I'm more confused that I'm already am Should i buy another ram? If that would fix it
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
yes
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
If i were to say, What kind? (Do make it budgetable)
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
also two ram sticks with same die is recommended
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
first id say you should get your pc up and running
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Noted..
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
aka get your new wire or whatevs it needs to start up
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Aight
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
from there we can proceed with what your pc needs(maybe a pair of ram sticks)
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
The problem is, the cost🥲 Well i can afford Do you have anything to recommend me?
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
we can figure out recommendations and such after we know what kind of specs your pc has before that i would not advise buying any parts except a new wire or whatever to get your pc to start
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
ddr3 ram sticks are pretty cheap nowadays anything that is from sk hynix, micron(crucial), samsung
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Tbh, it might take a couple of days.. my father said that he would get it fixed, due to the wire that he messed up.., so that wont worry me, just the problem here is.. The monitor or ether the ram
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
most of the time ram sticks never die
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Ohh, i kinda see the ram stick
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
well the frame drops are likely caused by the lack of a second ram stick but screen tearing is kind of a different story
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Is it possible to buy 3 more (including the other 1) so that It could fit like 4? Gee, didn't know where we got now
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
does your motherboard have 4 ram stick slots?
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh yes
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
cause in the picture it looked like it only has 2
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
yes, this one^
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Sooo basically, if my m.b has 4 slots, I can fit 4 more Rams that can literally make my pc better?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
even it has 4 slots, its not recommended on every system
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh?
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
plus if its ddr3 i would never buy more than 2
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Judging from the wiring inside... let me guess, I'll have to call a tech?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
only mobos that were designed for 4 ram sticks are recommended(t-top) and ur memory controller isnt ass
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
installing ram sticks is like legos just follow a tutorial on yt
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh?
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
also make sure to unplug your pc from power when replacing ram or any other component
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Noted! Is buying a ram online, be a good option? Since I'm seeing alot, of reviews of valorant Lmaoo
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Just make sure to buy identical sticks Don’t mix and match them
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
^^
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
I know this maybe a dumb question, but forgive me. Why:Gekko_Wingman_Cry:
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
It’s a very valid question actually, it has to do with some ram sticks not being compatible with each other which can cause the system not to boot
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oooo:Iso_Wow: :Iso_Wow:
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Some ram do work with each other from different brands but even then you can get problems like the system using the worse of the two or the timings mismatching etc Basically in general just buy identical ones to avoid any problems
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
^^

liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Honestly, i would really like to thank you for giving me your time and help (also one of the main problems, rather than the Current one) Gee, you people are more helpful than the techs that I have mentioned😭 The last thing I'll probably do is buy a new ram Or another 1 that it is The same BUT With the current and main problem, should I buy a new monitor after buying a Ram?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
depends enable that vrb feature and see
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Am i seeing angels:val_KekwSob:
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
if screen tearing is still that much noticeable like before or not
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
:val_KekwSob: Actuallyyy, The only reason why I asked for help if the screen tearing may happen to be related to my main problem (FPS drops(
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
screen tearing shouldnt cause fps drops
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh..
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
fps drops can however be the cause of screen tearing
Ferson
Ferson•11mo ago
yeah
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
yep
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh geez, sorry for causing an amount people joining in this problem😭 One last and Easiest question Or maybe 2 Hehe 1. I'd like to buy a Ram that it is online (due to laziness and an uncertain amount of task), which type of ram, in the online district would help me. Oh, don't worry about the other ram, I'll get 2/4, just in case
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
most offline stores dont sell ddr3 ram sticks anymore
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh? How come?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
and ig u have 4th gen cpu so ddr3 1600mhz
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Ight ight
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
very outdated
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Well it kinda depends where you live but in general they just aren’t in demand anymore in more modern places If no one is buying then no point in selling
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Is that a bad thing or a good thing, gee never knew knew this could be suspensing
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
neither depends on ur needs
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Just did a search and comparisoon, is Kingstong a good one? I mean a good ram*
lyra
lyra•11mo ago
I personally don't like Kingston
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Is this based on experience, or opinion, rather..
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
kingston likes to mix different dies for one sku thats why people dont like especially those going to overclock their ram
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Overclock their ram? May i Inquire to know why?
lyra
lyra•11mo ago
faster speeda
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Ah..
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
where do u live in just search ddr3 1600mhz dimm ram
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Confidentially, I'd say no, country-wise; Philippines
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
on 2nd hand market/online shopping platforms
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Oh my... is it a crime just to literally type "ram stick"
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
returned results would pretty much be useless shopee, lazada and maybe carousell
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Honestly, with a current ram I have, it can hold LoL (still lags but it's avrg) With valorant, it's slow speed but once your in the game, it could manage...
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Well lol is designed to run on korean internet cafés It’s also a much simpler game rendering wise
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Tbh, I'm just looking for a budgetable ram stick, that literally can just help me play With no lag, so that whenever I have an excuse, i literally can't say it's lag.. Anyway, there's ramsta, Kingston, samsung, crucial, codram
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Everyone still does :val_KekwSob:
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
samsung, crucial, sk hynix
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Sk hynix? I've heard that before
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
u will never gone wrong with these 3
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Wait
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
its ddr3, so, just get the best u can get
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
I really really wanna just say thank you To uhm.. the people that have helped me On a basis of 5-7 Thank you thank youu so much for the given information
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Basically everyone buys from them in order to make their ram Bit of a background player but they do make their own ram too
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
"Order to make their ram"..?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
sk hynix has the top tier ddr5 dies right now :val_KEKW:
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Yeah so other ram manufacturers get parts for their ram from them
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
I'm getting confusions 1. There's so much missing vocab 2. Whats the difference between ddr3 ddr4 ddr5 Oh god
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
theyre three manufacturers that make ram dies crucial is basically micron
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
I'm jotting down notes..
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
u need ddr3
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
The speed, voltage and latency is different
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
This tech stuff.. is sooooo🥲
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
But not every motherboard and cpu can handle the newer ones
lyra
lyra•11mo ago
ddr3 has slower frequency but lower latency ddr5 has higher frequency but higher latency
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
So not much point in getting it
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Noted and noteds!
lyra
lyra•11mo ago
I personally have ddr5 with cl30 latency
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
It feels like I'm taking a lesson.. go on Also, I'd be happy to buy Samsung/Sk hynix Would it be possible that you CAN identify a ram? If it is.. you already what I'm going to ask
Arii
Arii•11mo ago
Not sure what you are referring to here
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Like If you were to look at a specific ram, you'd know that this belongs to Samsung
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
theres sticker on it
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Or either kingstop and chuchu
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
if u want to know more information, look at the part numbers and search for its datasheet
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
It's a sign that I'm not cutout to be a tech geek... anyway stickers like blue or green?
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
it looks like this bruh
No description
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
u can clearly see whos the manufacturer
liorssshuo | Khari
liorssshuo | KhariOP•11mo ago
Alrightts! That'd be all, thank you again!🫶
mythea
mythea•11mo ago
u can even check what die is it, if the picture is clear enough and the long bold texts are the part numbers
liorssshuo | Khari
