Where can you find good inspiration?
I use pinterest and discord (and sometimes catalogues) to find inspiration. But I think I exhausted my curiosity and everything seems kinda...boring.
Where do you get your inspiration for your fits?

Mainly on Instagram for me. What style are you aiming for? I'm sure people could link some accounts that fit what you want to be inspired by
sorta streetwear, but not super outrageous to stand out
Honestly can't find the difference between other styles lol

Here's a previous thread with some good follows
ooh, will check them out
how about more andro or sorta gender neutral inspo
This account is pretty modern street wear and would probably tick that box https://www.instagram.com/uniformdisplay?igsh=MWg1cmxlZmZvNWticw==

That account is oversize galore, but digging it
Oversize best size
I try to avoid oversize because i'm kinda short and oversize makes me look tinier
but maybe I should just embrace that :/
Did you flip through #inspiration yet
This isn't true tbh, mewball wears oversized stuff and everyone thought they were 6' til they said they were like 5'5 or so
who is mewball lol
I'm sure you can use context clues to figure that one out
i'm going through it, i'm finding some good stuff ngl
what's with the obsession with suits tbh
i'm terrible at that
Poster on this server https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1205940680979906601
I flipped through the channel and didn't see a ton of suits so idk
But some people here like them
oh
not talking about this channel, just men's fashion in general
A lot of people new to dressing better think that "more formal = better" so they get really into suits
However, there are also cool ways to wear suits casually, or suits that are inherently more casual, that can be pretty fun to play around with
For example https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1166781508430860298
agree, but I live in a warm/tropical region and it gets fkin hot
any summer reccs?
Do you need a suit for a wedding or something? Or you just want to wear more suits?
no suits
just in general
I kinda hate suits tbh
idk why i tagged that reply T-T
Oh
This is a pivot from your original question so I'd recommend making a new thread
Suiting/tailoring is part of a larger trend in fashion right now
Natural ebb and flow
If youβre not interested in it donβt worry about it
But some things I like for hot weather are linen shirts, camp collar short sleeve shirts, tank tops, linen pants or shorts, lightweight tees, generally things that fit looser rather than tighter to allow some breeze/airflow to cool you down
i should check previous threads or such, but sure
i'm kinda interesting in tailoring clothes, but not suits, which are kinda boring to me, but live and let live ig
A lot of people here like wearing ivy/prep which often involve tailored clothes that aren't suits
Just scroll through #waywt-highlights or #feb2024-top-waywt for examples
an user of this discord
samesies and when looking for inspo I generally like try to picture the look with shorts instead of pants
chino shorts all the way
I don't think the answer is to only wear shorts. Plenty of pants can be worn comfortably in hot climates.
I'm a brazilian without air conditioner so allow me to disagree lol
but if this isn't so extreme you can try linen pants yeah
I experience temps around 105F every summer and linen pants that are big enough to allow airflow can be more effective than shorts in the sun because they keep the sunlight off your legs
chino shorts are not great for the heat. cotton twill is heavier than plain weave
You also just gotta thug that shit out to a certain extent
depends if it's a moist or dry climate too
fabric > cut > length all the way though I agree
also shoes matter a lot
almost passed out on overheart once in shorts because I was with a docmartens
but on chinos I didn't mean like real chinos
lightweight chinos
but you have a good point, if you're exposed to sunlight it's good to cover yourself
my father worked on the open and always wore long-sleeve button-downs
I stay on the shade so I expose a lot of my skin
(they know what they're doing: long, flowy, lightweight - for standing under the sun in dry climates)
such as?
reccs?
i live in the southern part of india, and the sun lives next to my home
reccs?

I like button-downs more than tshirts because the weaves stray further off the body than the knits
also they fit your tailored aesthetic
loose, linen pants are always good. Lightweight, good airflow, blocks the sun.
what I see a lot around here are men who get the wet soggy spot on their tshirts and thats. gross.
true, i prefer them as well, but I wear a t shirt underneath :/
i'm looking it up rn
earthy vibes so far lol
I'd suggest making another thread if you're looking for specific brand recommendations, we've strayed pretty far from the original ask at this point.
I do that but I'm more on the grunge than the prep side
yeah
you'll get more ppl
If you live in South India you probably can find better stuff locally than I can recommend you from the other side of the world
same reason why I just threw a tips site rather than brands lol
true, but having some ideas for fits wouldn't hurt
your local brands probably do better than the imported ones
and it was super helpful
Here's me wearing some linen pants
These are from Black Ficus which is a Ukrainian company, but no reason to buy linen from Ukraine when I'm sure you could find some great linen in india
yeah, there are many like this
there's a cool indian company called kokun that makes some great looking pants https://kokun.in/collections/bottoms
kokΕ«n
Bottoms
Unique handmade pieces that are easy on the skin and earth for earthlings and artists, across borders. Sustainably and ethically made in India, by rural women
as far as I'm aware, they're priced to export rather than for locals though
yeah
I was just going through it and whoa, that bitch is expensive
I know a ton of local stores that sell almost the same thing for wayy cheaper
there's a lot of hand labor that goes into their dyeing process
but if you can find similar stuff for cheaper then that's cool
