I'm still 2Js, and currently looking for my 3rd J. For me it's a combination of being that good, and the work being easy. Things my coworkers struggle with for hours and hours, I can do in a couple of minutes. Comes with experience - I'm not particularly brilliant. This would be impossible as a junior

As someone who definitely doesn't consider myself as "just that good", I think it comes down to a couple things: * as a prerequisite, building trust with your team/manager that you can get what you say/are assigned done in a reasonable amount of time * once you have that trust, being more liberal with deadlines and spacing the pace in which you release work out * on that, I definitely have productivity bursts where I get more done, but I'll try to relase work in bite size pieces steadily

It's mostly working at a place where your coworkers are not as good as you so the bar is low and/or the job has a lot of organizational chaos. Like for both my Js even if I wanted to be dedicated to the jobs 8 hours/day it's impossible because no one know what I should be working on. I'm always blocked by waiting on decisions

It's easy when all jobs don't require you to work your but off. Some jobs require you to basically give your right nut, and then underpay. Those jobs are horrible. Get in and get out. Ideally, you want multiple jobs that don't have tight deadlines. Also, as others say if you are much better by comparision then your coworkers, and the bar is low, it will be easy.
