How to buy these shoes from Japan?
How do I buy these: https://www.beams.co.jp/en/item/beams/shoes/11313854424/?color=79
I've never done it before, but as I understand it I pay a proxy to buy it on my behalf and ship it to me?
How much is the typical proxy fee and shipping charges for the US?

So I just went about this; when using a proxy service it’s ironically more beneficial to get more stuff
shipping is gonna be like $40-50 at the cheapest
so you gotta get more things to make a haul from a different country worth it
There's a guide in #fashion-guides
To proxying
But spiderman is right, proxying is rarely worth buying 1 item
Is it any different since these are a pre order?
Also, for some reason the beams website seems to work on cellular, but not my Wi-Fi, which is odd
May want to message the proxy service you choose
And that's cause it's noticing your wifi is in the US most likely
So basically pick a proxy service and see if they can help?
Yeah, I’d recommend Buyee since they’re the most well known and work with the most services and companies
From Japan is normally the recommended one now
Cheapest fees and hit all the major used sites
Any of ZenMarket, FromJapan, or Buyee will work most likely
The main thing it's likely to affect is when your warehouse storage limit starts
Being a preorder
I will say that there's a pair made in America coming out that have a similar colourway with a model that I think would look good with your fits
If you wanna save yourself the trouble of proxying
Hmm. Not bad. Thing, Japan is better though.
From Japan is great. I’ve used it for a single pair of pants and shipping was about $20 bucks. Still ended up being way cheaper than buying locally
proxies will handle pre-orders, typically the process is that they've got a form with the URL of the site you're buying off and some fields for an item description, price, etc
they'll have someone review it and charge you however much and then it'll get shipped to their warehouse when it releases
at that point you'll select a shipping method or to consolidate with other packages before shipping
I doubt you'd get charged more than 20-30 USD for shipping to the US if it's just a pair of shoes
I'm having trouble using FromJapan and ZenMarket. They both refuse to do anything with the beams URL, https://www.beams.co.jp/en/item/beams/shoes/11313854424/?color=79. ZenMarket says "This item is blocked by our system because we had negative experience (refusal to work with us as a proxy, fraud etc.) dealing with the seller."
FromJapan also fails, but the error message is less menacing
Japan Rabbit, formerly White Rabbit Express, will charge you like 20% more than any other proxy shipper in exchange for breaking terms of service for you and letting you lie to customs officials
What an endorsement!
I heard back from FromJapan. They said Beams has it's own intl shipping service and doesn't work with proxies anymore. It didn't seem to work with this particular item though. Frustrating.
Aaaaaaand preorders are sold out in my size. Crap.
it's a way to buy things that you're not supposed to for reasons like the above lol
Yeah, I'm starting to realize that. Thanks for all your help, though.
Hey just wanted to share this END find while I was looking at alternatives to this proxy nightmare: https://www.endclothing.com/us/new-balance-bb550sla-bb550sla.html
END.
New Balance BB550SLA Natural Indigo | END.
Buy New Balance BB550SLA - Natural Indigo from END. (US) - only $87. Fast shipping on latest New Balance
They’re also 550s, missing a few details from the Beams collab (like the asymmetrical coloring between shoes). But for $87 I had to pull the trigger
That's pretty good actually
