Updating nameservers instructions do not state how or where I can edit them?
I log in to Cloudflare and I get this message
"is not active on Cloudflare yet
Update the nameservers at your registrar to activate Cloudflare services for this domain."
Following the steps to set up a Cloudflare I am on step 3.
"Update your nameservers - Find the list of nameservers at your registrar. Add both of your assigned Cloudflare nameservers, remove any other nameservers, and save your changes."
with the links I found the nameservers it wants me to replace
Nameservers:
NS73.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS74.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
with
ashley.ns.cloudflare.com
weston.ns.cloudflare.com
The instructions stop there and don't say how to replace those nameservers. Even the long form guide gets to the same spot and doesnt mention how to replace the nameservers.
Any help is most appreciated!

Because it depends on your Domain Registrar, and their UIs can vary a lot, you can try googling how to change the nameservers at the registrar you have
https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/zone-setups/full-setup/setup/ There's a few guides linked there under before you begin - provider specific instructions
Cloudflare Docs
Change your nameservers (Full setup) · Cloudflare DNS docs
If you want to use Cloudflare as your primary DNS provider and manage your DNS records on Cloudflare, your domain should be using a full setup.
I have followed those steps but read step 3. it just ends without saying how
It depends on the registrar you are using for your domain. If you look in step 3, there's an "Update your registrar" section https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/zone-setups/full-setup/setup/#update-your-registrar

I have went to the ICANN site and found the nameservers it wanted me to find, then it says to remove yuor existing authoritative nameservers. As far as I can tell, I cant edit anything on the ICANN
Right, ICANN is just helpful for finding out which Registrar you are using if you don't know
You'll have to navigate/login to your Registrar's website and change them there
isnt Cloudflare my registar?
If it was, you wouldn't be adding your site to Cloudflare or have domaincontrol nameservers
Cloudflare does have a Registrar but you're not using it, you're just using it as a cdn
I believe domaincontrol nameservers are the ones for Godaddy. If you share your domain name (or look in the ICANN output for
Registrar
), I can tell you which Registrar you are usinghmm well how do i use you guys? I was recommended to go to Cloudflare so i would liek to use you
i dont really care for godaddy or anything
You have to add the domain to Cloudflare first eitherway, and then you could transfer to Cloudflare Registrar if the domain is supported
What is your domain?
30yearoldvirgin.com is what i put
Do you already own that domain? That's registered at GoDaddy since 2018
i dont, cloudflare asked me to put in a name so i did
so should i pick something that is not taken?
ok so you just got confused with the inputs, no worries.
The "add a site" is for existing sites you already own.
If you want to register a domain, go under Domain Registration -> Register Domains
Magic Link: https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/domains/register
If you register a domain through Cloudflare's Registrar, you don't have to worry about adding it like you just did with that, it takes care of adding it automagically
aaah ok, cool. So if a name is available with the search then all is good, right?
yep yea it'll tell you if it's not and suggest alternatives:
Awesome, thanks a bunch!
