OCBD in Europe ?
Hey, I used quite often the basic wardrobe guide and i love it, but brand recommandation is sometimes very American centric. For example for OCBD the bean recommended are quite difficult to find in Europe (J press, brooks brothers, spier and Mackey,…). So do you have some brand recommandations for ocbd’s in Europe ?

Yeah, I think Polo Ralph Lauren is the easiest way to find for a classic OCBD style. A bunch of european brands that do basics also make oxford shirts with button down collars. Like APC, Norse Projects, NN07, etc. In my experience they sometimes have less nice collars than the US brands though. Gitman Vintage is easy to find but a lot of people don't like the fit (too slim). Some italian shirt makers like Mazzarelli or Finamore also make some shirts with button-down collars but I don't have any experience with handling them in person

yeah, uniqlo OCBDs are not great, they lack a decent collar and are too short and slim
are you able to find any Polo RL OCBDs secondhand on Vinted, eBay, poshmark, depop, etc? The "yarmouth" fit ones especially are good. Nice relaxed fit
I think Uniqlo OCBDs are decent for the price, however, if you want a proper collar for a decent price, I havent been able to find any options, one brand that makes good OCBDs and is a bit cheaper than eg. PRL (at least where I live) is Kamakura Shirts, check them out
To clarify, I don't think PRL OCBDs are worth buying new, but they're all over the secondhand market for ~$20 at least in the US, that's why I recommended looking for them secondhand
Yeah there are loads on vinted for similar or slightly higher prices. Probably the way to go!
Where do you find gitman vintage? I had some trouble tracking them down
And yeah finding good ocdbs in Europe is a challenge at least if you do not want to spend 150 per shirt
Frans Boone and Care of Carl from the top of my head. They’re very expensive though. Secondhand PRL is easy to find and much much cheaper. And, if you get the right cuts, nicer fitting as well
Ah you meant new right. Yeah I really liked the look of the Kamakura shirts as well sadly they do not stock the ivy at care of carl. Is there a common term for Oxfords in German btw
i have a candy stripe ocbd from officine generale that's quite nice
bought it because they had an XXS size

Yeah new, sorry if that wasn't clear. I haven't looked for gitman secondhand because I'm not interested in buying them myself. As far as I know there is no common term for oxfords in german apart from oxford. In my experience it doesn't mean anything to most people and they just list it as shirt from brand, without specifying the fabric or cut so you'll have to look at (or ask for) pictures of the tags. If I were looking for PRL oxfords I would use something like this on vinted: https://www.vinted.at/catalog?catalog[]=536&brand_ids[]=88&brand_ids[]=4273&size_ids[]=1531&size_ids[]=1532&size_ids[]=1533&size_ids[]=1548&size_ids[]=1549. Change the extension of the url form
.at to .fr or .de for it to work with your local vinted version. And of course adjust the sizes.thanks
