Did you remember to connect to the internet?
Im hard wired, but that happens on the installation process
what ISO is this? our new ISOs are offline
like did you get this from our website?
I guess I just tipped off that I hadn't kept up with the documentation
nah that's fine, payload errors like the one above used to happen when there was no network connection, so if these are the offline ISOs and that error is still here, then it's something else
Yep, followed the link on the github
Tried with kde as well, same result heh
i cant seem to reproduce this with bazzite-nvidia-stable ISO
what did you use to flash the ISO
Saw a few discussion about this that it's related to secure boot. is your secure boot disabled?
Balenaetcher
Let me see, I believe so.
Yeah secure boot is disabled
Alright i would install Fedora Silverblue and when you hit the desktop, rebase
In the terminal, wait for it to rebase. It will finish when it says to reboot
Reboot and everything should work
Very bizarre issue though.. Only other thing i can think of is if your BIOS doesn't support UEFI but i feel like most modern hardware supports that
Sorry for the inconvenience
sorry im very new to linux, will that install bazzite over it?
yup
ok, will try this later on. Thanks.
Fedora Silverblue
An atomic variant looks, feels, and behaves just like a regular desktop operating system, but your updates are delivered as full images of a working system. This makes every installation identical to every other, and it will never change while in use. What's more, Silverblue will always keep an older version of the system around for you to boot ...
all of the settings from the installer will carry over to bazzite once you rebase
you can still follow the installation guide
same error oddly enough
Ive installed other linux distros before π€
in the installer!?
yep, it won't get past the installer
what is your hardware
I5 9400f, 1660TI, 16GB ram
this is really bizarre
like that's the upstream ISO
are you dual booting?
i was trying to install it on the SSD that windows is on yeah
did you follow the dual boot guide?
fedora atomic is different
like it's not like other linux distros where dual booting is a little easier
just because of the way it's partitioned
ahh ok
maybe thats the problem with Bazzite then π€ ?
@Damikiller37 this is a similar issue that you have although without the verbose error
upstream
fedora silverblue/kinoite do not support dual booting officially
but people have figured it out
Well, if i wipe my windows installation, it should work, right?
no windows should be installed first
so dont wipe it
I more meant, if i didn't want windows at all π
oh ok.. if you're fine with that. if you want it back and still want to keep bazzite, highly recommend putting it on a separate drive if possible
in my experience that works the best
yeah, i could put it on my external hard drive π€
Well I can't even get into the installer at all. It immediately gives me the error.
look into windows to go, but that only supports windows 10 and they are planning to kill it off
thats what i did
wait i just learned windows 11 w/ windows to go works using rufus!
they left π
