Modifying refresh rate slider from 40-60 to 30-60

I own an Ayn Loki with a screen that was able to smoothly accept refresh rate all the way from 30hz to 60hz when I was using windows. Some games, namely the new Dark Forces remake operate at weird refresh rates or tick rates (in this case, 72hz) and I'd love to use a 36 Hz refresh rate on Bazzite to prevent judder when playing. I've tried old commands to change minimum and maximum rates on the past but have failed to succeed and the steam (not unified) refresh rate slider is always limited between 40 and 60hz. Any updated working ways to change this?

did you already try overriding the gamescope refresh rate variables?
mkdir -p $HOME/.config/environment.d

cat <<EOF > "$HOME/.config/environment.d/override-gamescopecmd.conf"
export STEAM_DISPLAY_REFRESH_LIMITS=30,60
EOF
mkdir -p $HOME/.config/environment.d

cat <<EOF > "$HOME/.config/environment.d/override-gamescopecmd.conf"
export STEAM_DISPLAY_REFRESH_LIMITS=30,60
EOF
then reboot

Tried that, didn't work. Still shows 40-60 in the slider. Looking at the gamescope logs it doesn't seem like anything's getting patched, though I'm notoriously bad at looking for or interpreting logs so I may be wrong

@Kyle Gospo we should make the legion go patch into an env variable that loads the refresh rate values

Maybe adding it directly to /etc/environment would work

Nope, adding it to that file does nothing Also, Steam QAM refresh just hit stable, so it may or may not break some things.

Yes, tried it and it worked as a charm, both normally and patching the sliders.
