valorant is capped at 60, without vsync on , it runs above 60 (upto like 300) when in windowed mode
what should i do
Solution:Jump to solution
in amd adrenalin software , i set the laptop mode to custom , clicked advanced settings , set the frame rate target control to like 300 ( because my system reaches 300fps mostly , if yours reaches 200 ish or 200+ , set it to 250 or something) and then i logged into the game and it seems to uncap the 60 fps

try to check the GPU driver
if it is nvidia control panel.. go to 3D resolution setting can change the FPS cap to unlimite
d
or you can try to run on compatibility mode and try to find out
i had set the vertical sync to off in the nvidia panel , didnt do anyything
let me try , thanks sm for replying
np
what is your monitor refresh rate?
60
ik its weird but i play better without vsync
OH
then it should be capped at 60 when you play with V sync ON
and its also recommended cuz when you put vsync its much smoother feeling
yeah i know but ive come to find that i play better without vsync , i used to use vsync but now its just weird
The input lag is bad with vsync
Most of the people prefer it without vsync
But some simply can't play without it due to screen tearing and personal preference
i get tearing when vsync is on which is another weird thing
:Iso_Wow: :Iso_Wow:
yeah when off, its more responsive
So ur fps don't get capped when u turn vsync on and it tears with vsync on?
okay , the thing is , its already stuck at 60 , without the vsync , when that happens , there is screen tearing and when i do turn on the vsync option , its stop screen tearing
the vsync option is completely broken for me
i cant get it above 60 unless i switch it to windowed , which is harder to play in
Its still not fixed
change nvidia power saving option to max performance
&
are u using reflex with gsync?
it will cap ur fps
*its better to have ur fps lower than monitor refresh rate when u use gsync
like 3fps lower
I dont have gsync
Isn't vsync always supposed to cap ur fps tho?
Where is that
He says his fps don't get capped with vsync on
im talking about gsync
with reflex
or ultra low latency
When i tab out , valorant reaches frixking 300 fps and when i tab back in , it goes back to 60
Uh i wasn't asking related to that
I was asking in general
geforce experience?
idk
U have vsync on?
yes it will
Bro i am confused now :Gekko_Wingman_Pat:
thats how vsync works
im not talking about vsync
idk why u replied to me
vsync and gsync is two different thing
Ik
I got kinda confused about his issue
I thought he was saying his fps DON'T get capped with vsync on
Its stuck at 60 fps no matter what
My vsync is not even on
U sure u haven't got them capped via the in-game setting?
When im in valorant
This is without vsync btw
When i tab out of valorant to something else
I told you , vsync is not even on
Not vsync
Then
U can see the actual fps cap settings below the resolution and stuff
In video settings
Things like "limit fps always" "limit fps in background"
The limit fps things ?
They are all off
@Haridid u check the things i told u
and stop talking about vsync
makes no sense
I dont see any power options in gefore exp
If you meant the battery boost , im not playing on battery
Setting max fps in that doesnt do anythint cause im plugged in
Fixed it somehow
if it happens again try going into task manager go to details find valorant winshipping and set it to high priority, when this happened to me it fixed itr
Oh okay , thanks sm
Thanks everybody
how did you manage it
I was wrong , its still broken
okay wait i found a solution
it seems to work
so i have an AMD system
Solution
in amd adrenalin software , i set the laptop mode to custom , clicked advanced settings , set the frame rate target control to like 300 ( because my system reaches 300fps mostly , if yours reaches 200 ish or 200+ , set it to 250 or something) and then i logged into the game and it seems to uncap the 60 fps
here
.
this seems to work for me
it wasnt the gpu's fault
the display integrated gpu had been capped for some reason
