Thanks @j0rge ! Now that we can create the offline installer and bootable system USBs, I’d like to use the ii Echer Pro to bake drives for SCALE I have a decent stack of USBs that would work great as installers I don’t mind donating then for SCALE I’m working with Kids Day Team / CNCF to find sponsorship to give the kids bootable USBs they use for the classes as Kids Day The drives I have a fast enough for installation media but not system drives

Flash up to 16 SD/mSD/SSD/USB drives with balena etcherPro
Using balena Etcher software, EtcherPro is a stand-alone hardware device that allows you to write up to 16 SD/mSD/SSD/USB drives at once, at extreme speeds.

I’ll probably bring this to Paris so we can image after KubeCon and before Kids Day

how many vendors put out usb sticks at conferences? we could put useful stuff on there instead. 😄 like "bring your free usb drive you get at this conference to this area and we'll put bluefin on it for you."

I'm looking to purchase about 50 of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7PDLXC (probably the 64GB/$12 as the 128GB are $18) main difference for me being the 300MB/s vs 400MB/s throughput.

This is specifically for the Cloud Native Kids day (we need the throughput for the system drive)

I can't go left to go right, I'm going right to Paris. However @Kyle Gospo and @Noel will be attending to represent the project, bringing USB keys and stickers ilan told me it won't conflict again so I am up for going every year from now on

I got info on the system type they are renting for kids day: Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 i7-1165G7, 2.8GHz, 16GB, 512GB SSD, LAN 10/100/1000, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, HDMI, 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB-C, 2x USB 3.2 Type A, 15,6" LED, 1920 x 1080, Intel Iris XE, NVIDIA MX450 2GB, external mouse, mouse pad, power supply and carrying case I’m trying to communicate thru the media company about how we can check if the bios config will allow us to boot USB

I think if we can do igpu only that should be fine?

Yeah, that might be easier. I'm trying to see if I can buy one now to trail on or get one early in the week, Monday?, so I can test on the exact version they will have on Saturday

I got funding for 50 sticks for kids day! I'll be working with @iiamabby and my sun to help create usable self-contained bootable sticks. These are 400MB/s and should be fast enough for system drives for kids day.
