official steam deck does not like to connect
When using the official steam deck dock, I find it very hard to get it to connect to my television. Sometimes I have to go into desktop mode, connected that way, and then switch back into game mode.

If it's not playing ball, I disconnect and reconnect just the power cable to the dock. If it's a Samsung TV and it says "scanning for devices" I press return on my remote and the picture should appear. I also turn off digital input plus under the TV's settings for that HDMI port. I set the input on the TV for the deck as "home theater system". Sometimes I even have to restart the TV while the deck is connected to get the image to appear.
It's been like this on steamos or bazzite since I got the dock. Though it connects more often first time now than it did.
the official dock gives me headaches sometimes too (this on steamOS)
