Agent not starting on a fresh install

Just started a fresh win11 pc and installed hass agent. The only thing I modified was the install path which I set to program files - hass agent. I double click it and it just won't run. I see the satellite service running in task manager though, just not the main one. My pc specs are brand new last gen everything
Solution:
Ok so after careful consideration (of about a couple secs or so) I just decided to uninstall and install back up again using the default dir instead. It didn't make sense to my neophyte brain that it would now work just because of that, but lo and behold, it actually did, so... sorry I can't help track the ticket but at least I am now using it happily heheh.

Okay this is a solution so thanks for marking it but we'll still keep a log for us to check this. Last question: - Did you just make a Hass agent folder in program files? - Where did you download the installer from? @Amadeo obvsly some reference or something that isn't dynamic to the install dir

I didn't make a folder but I input the path and it made the folders itself. One HASS Agent for the basic service and one HASS.Agent for the satellite one the installer I got from your page (the fork I mean)

maybe something to do with permissions? I checked the shortcut and there was an "unknown user - bunchofnumbers" set as having special permissions (and no other set of permissions)

huh, tried to recoup the logs from the faulty install so I checked recycle bin, where I found em and tried to restore, but it would not let me on account of Program Files folder permissions. Even though I have admin privileges it would not let me restore. Maybe it's permissions after all that was at the root of the initial problem

Interesting, the recommended way is appdata but it should work either way, I'll take a look at this Were there any logs in the programfiles install path that didn't work?

@Amadeo I think he's saying he recycled the files and can't undo it So no logs

Ya, just wanted to know if any were generated (to know if the app even tried to run and failed or it was completely borked)

Ohh okay sry thought you meant you wanted the actual filed Files*

Yes it seems they were generated and I unwittingly deleted them. Only thought about it afterwards, and tried to rescue but to no avail

I'll try to reproduce it this weekend
