Does anyone have recommendations on software tools to help land interviews? In particular, I'm looking for two things:
1. Tools or sites to help you locate jobs as soon as they're listed so that you're one of the first to apply.
2. Tools to automate as much of the application process as possible to lower the time cost of applying.
I've heard of tools for both these things, but it's been a bit since I've last applied for jobs and I forgot what they were.

So, what worked for me really well for #1 (and helped me land j1) is this feature on linkedin

just make sure your current query is querying for the last 24 hours of jobs
and you'll get an email digest and be literally within a day of applying
i've done this for a significant number of jobs when i was job searching and it helps a lot

+1 to this. I think the reason I don't think applying directly is so worthless is because I only apply to jobs where the listing us less than a day old

lazyapply is an option to automate applying

That's the one I heard of. Thank you.
Anyone here used it?
I'll try this, thank you

You could hire ppl on upwork to fill out job apps for you
That’s what I’ve been doing with moderate success
900 job apps for $200/mo
Could also code ur own app to apply
IMO lazy apply gave me poor results bc most lazy apply apps in my experience are Indian staffing agency / shitty consulting shops
Also tend to get shitloads of applications bc of tools like lazy apply

The difficult part is the VA would spam easy apply too because tryna make number up, and not spend time in the on company website application

Yeah I ran into that issue. I specifically instructed the VA not to apply to easy apply jobs and set my linked alerts to email me if they do

Interesting strategy
How do you ensure they fill the forms good?

I randomly check with the login credentials I gave them (to workday and other ATS systems that mandate opening an account)
I share with them a Google sheet that has all the info they need

@totaldev out of curiosity, what filters and keywords did you use for your linkedin job alerts? I think we're in similar fields

literally just golang, and remote

You enjoying go a lot? I've never done much in it, but I've been considering expanding the languages I know in order to qualify for more jobs
absent-sapphire•10mo ago
yeah it's my favorite language to write stuff in haha
you pay $200 for 900 applications?
I'm scraping jobs and assigning them a list of selected jobs to avoid this

Yes
I'm building something that might interest you, can I DM you ?
