valorant wont open

so this is for a friend, his game will not open at all he's tried everything, uninstalled and reinstalled, run as administrator, everything, but when he tries to open valorant it takes him straight to the launcher, in the launcher he clicks play and nothing happens, please help!

try get him to verify the files of the game. (Riot client > settings > valorant > verify game files)
