Vinted vs Poshmark
What do you like from each? Or is there a 3rd (other than eBay) that you prefer?

What types of clothes are you looking for? I know you said no ebay but ebay is arguably the best for second hand clothes
I was more leaning open discussion.
I think eBay is great. I wanted to talk through the use of the others
i've had a few good deals off of depop particularly from people who aren't double listing on ebay or grailed
Ah ok i misunderstood. I typically look for vintage so ebay is number one with etsy being number two. Etsy is fine but has horrible searchability and tends to he pricier
Grailed is ok to but tends to focus on fashion im not as interested in
Depop is something I've used before to buy and sell
It has quite a lot of vintage sellers, prices vary a lot
Less avant garde or even MFA favourite brands
Less tailoring
Generally people don't include measurements, which is annoying
there are so many online secondhand marketplaces at this point
Poshmark feels most similar to eBay to me
i still buy most of my stuff on grailed. some ebay, one proxy from japan
I only use depop and eBay but they both have a lot of flaws that make it frustrating to use as a buyer and seller
Seen a lot of controversy lately about grailed's new policies
Yall keep saying depop I’ve never heard of it
Just downloaded vinted today, but haven’t messed with it much .
I'm surprised you've heard of poshmark but not depop. They have pretty much the same base
the app is striaght out of 2009 though
despite being acquired by etsy
Yeah that’s wild. I’m not sure why.
You trust Etsy?
yeah?
I only ask because I’ve had mixed reviews with non clothing stuff so didn’t know what kind of purchase protection they have
i havent heard of people having issues but havent heard many dispute stories
its good for some vintage
Solid. So I did a brand search and it was all over the place is it better to have an item you’re looking for?
I don't trust etsy at all
and I used it for like 10 years
buying and selling (art)
it is so fucking garbage now. I had to open multiple cases and a bunch of them I never got my money back because the shop got banned so they said there was nothing they could do
oh damn alright good to know
Okay! So I’m not the only one 😂
It's sad because there really isn't a community platform for selling art or crafts anymore, most people just sell through their own websites or instagrams which obviously isn't searchable unless you know about it, but they tried to expand too far and got taken over by dropshippers and scammers
Yeah so much dropshipping on Etsy now, it’s very difficult to navigate
for example, regarding today's earlier conversation about the bear, multiple sellers with hundreds of 5 star revies selling the jacket carmy wears. But if you dig through the blank 5 star reviews, you see this lol
Damn i have never seen this about etsy, think i’m probably gonna never use it again lol
I don’t. Hence my surprise when I saw folks rec. In
It
I have only had good experiences with etsy but i also usually only buy from sellers i found through IG so that makes it a bit safer i think
Yeah that's different for sure
