Have one Story piece, on paper they're very adjacent to what I wanna do, but I'm not super interested in some of their cuts or their trousers
I want to like them so bad but every time I look at their pieces I just don’t see how I can make it work for myself. However the brown pullover is the most tempting piece for me.
Willing to have more though, they do have one or two pieces a season where I go, that's for me
internet fashion success story, they were active posters on /r/malefashion for a while and also on Discord for a bit
Love them (the pants) in the abstract but just feel like I’d get bored of them in a year or two. The forager jacket, and some of their takes on a trucker I would heavily consider
Scarf is very cool but feels, for the time being, like a victim of the crochet trend.
Story is a brand that wasn't on my radar til last year and they've rapidly become one of my favorites. Their lookbooks are a great vibe and I love what they do with natural dyes, loose and flowing silhouettes, and plant/floral patterns and embroidery. I now own 4 pieces from them - two tees, a polite pullover, and an embroidered camp collar shirt. I love the crunchy hippy thing they've got going on, although I do admit it can be a little much in certain pieces
Their polite pullover in this orange velvet fabric has to be one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe
have a few pieces now mixed between story mfg and their sister brand gentle fulness. love every piece only thing though is that the ive had quality issues with the ones i bought new, no problems with the used however.
still one of my favorite brands though, fun brand with fun cuts
I did listen to Saeed’s TF episode and it did make me realize that the crunchiness of it all is not a put on. Dude’s been vegan forever and doesn’t own a raincoat even though he lives in London
yeah the dude seems really cool
he did a couple of AMAs for r/mfa too but those were years back
I associate Story with a sense of genuineness. Idk if that makes sense
Totally. Was surprised to hear how not lucrative it was though made me sad
I bet they are doing better now
They have really taken off
I'm planning to go to a store later this week that stocks story and I'm very excited to see what they look like in-person. GSH put me onto them and I'd love to have a camp shirt or something one day
Hmm yeah I’d love to touch it. I think maybe Boswell in Portland stocks it but not a ton of stockists in the PNW it seems?
for me its a mix of them having their own brand concept and style from the beginning and keeping true to it. also personally its because i saw how they began and what a labor of love its been. its not like a designer came out of school and started a brand with investments or a trust fund baby wanted to start a clothing company.
Leisure Centre in Vancouver, Calculus in Victoria, can't think of the Seattle and Portland stockists otherwise
Calculus has it? In between the CAYL and CAMF and Salomons?
Seattle wouldn’t be caught dead in story I think. Too much joy
Love story. Picked up my first piece during their winter sale (indigo pullover). Love that they stick to their values and have a clear vision. All of the behind the scenes videos on their YouTube channel are really interesting as well.
I guess they stopped carrying it, but they did for a while, they still have Bode lol
I think that actually nails why I like the brand so much. They're fun and silly in a way that's really refreshing
love their ethos, love their clothes.
I really like their idea of making childrens clothes for adults and you can really see that come through in the colour choices and cuts.
If anyone's tryna score a snack shirt for cheap don't hit me up because this isn't self advertising
Yeah Shop Boswell stocks em
Cute little shop. Some nice stuff
I think story is really cool even though I have no interest in their clothes for myself. They have a clear brand direction which I think they knock out of the park.
Really want to pick up their “be kind to animals shirt “ and I agree with Joel, I love their ethos.
The bodega sale was so damn tempting too
matches i think have the best prices
picked up a few from there
really want the cat tee
Just got my Xenia sweater from them. Probably the cheapest line they have but fun to see Auralee and Studio Nicholson. Will have to make an irl visit soon
Yeah I’ve only been once and I felt so poor I’ve not been back, but I would like to pick up some SN or Auralee sometime
Dude my sweet partner who has amazing taste but has been a thrifted exclusive girl until she met me will be walking around Portland and want to pop into Una and Frances May and get sooo discouraged :(. Anyway, don’t want to derail the story talk
absolutely in love with what they do, yet to cop anything. Really into what they make and how they do it, rare UK W
Also the most Brighton possible brand, and I mean that in the nicest way
I feel this deep in my bones
Really like story. I own and love two tees and even in something as simple as a t-shirt there is something about the cut, design and colors/materials that makes them feel different from my other tees. The full look is not entirely what I'm going for but I hope to branch out in more than just t-shirts in the future
