@Amadeo
eli5 removed?
That photo, it's not v2 fault tho
It's obvsly the old uninstaller failing to remove it
oh
But potentially we could add something to remove it if a user selects migrate?
yeah, I've though about it before - there was an issue on the original HASS.Agent repo that is doesn't remove the service - but if the idea with migration is that old HASS.Agent can still function we can't touch that
unless someone has an idea on how to approach this 😄
When clicking the migrate option tho?
would be still breaking change, migration shouldn't break the old version
No one wants to copy data surely?
Heck maybe we need another script just for this?
Have it selected by default?
It did remove the files. Just left the service. I guess I can delete it from the registry.
the best idea I can think of now is an option within the v2 to remove the old service, installer for new software shouldn't alter other software imho, opens a lot of room for non-tech ppl for complaints

Yeah I get that, I think maybe we just have to have an extra script on the docs. I could probably do one in python in about 10 mins once I'm home. That way if anyone wants to they can. Completely option default hidden so people don't complain.
The reality is lots of software fails to delete stuff, that's why I reinstall every year/use Linux now 😂
my friend switched recently to ubuntu on his work laptop due to some requirements, GNOME is so customizable with plugins its unbelievable 😮
he made it look "windows 11 like"
and it looks better than the original xD
with exception of the fact that someone for some reason decided to remove the option within GUI (without any additional tools) to set wallpaper to solid colour 😄
but those are perks of opensource xD
