How much would you pay for shoes that need to be resoled?

I saw a pair of Gucci 1953 Loafers on eBay that seem to be in fairly good condition (can’t see any problems with the upper) except for a very worn down sole. They are 100$ which feels like decent value but I’m not sure. Any thoughts?

I've found guccie loafers for that price that didn't need a resole. My understanding is that guccie loafers aren't that high quality either. So to me it seems not worth it, but better to also get someone elses opinion as well

Gucci is a design house, not a manufacturing company, so their quality is that of whatever misc. Italian shoe factory they used to make that pair — nothing more or less. $100 isn’t bad for a resoleable shoe that you like, but do keep in mind that full resoles pretty commonly run from $120-200 these days, depending on locale and quality of work. If, to you, that loafer is worth $200-300, then it’s a fair buy.

The leather at the bottom on the end of the toe box tends to hit the ground on the 1953 so they will often have some wear there, so I’d make sure you can see that area in the listing photos
