It should work fine, but depends on how you want to integrate. I wanted to do it for Stripe today, but decided to use native Stripe settings as whole query was 6 minutes (maximum for worker req is 15) and I was lazy to write code to store every subscription in D1.
are you using d1 in production or it's a hobby project
