Fundamental footwear
Long before I even slightly got into trying to have some sense of style I used to always wear the same old pair of white sneakers. Nowadays I've sort of swapped them out with black leather 1460 Dr Martens. I wear a lot of pleated pants, smart, cotton/wool blends. I recently purchased dickies 874 and looking into Carhartt simple/master pants because I'm exploring wider straight cuts. I've been wearing the docs on literally any fit. And it doesn't really break a fit, but I'm bored of them. I want variation.
What are some type of shoes I should be looking into? Leather loafers, white sneakers, chucks, vans?
My budget isn't all that big so I'd rather have the most versatile option to start with, but I'm sort of lost as to what that would be.
Thanks!

Maybe some black Bass Weejun loafers? Can grab em on ebay for 35-90 usually
I'm from Europe, first look they're between 140 and 200 euros
pricy
But nice suggestion, they do look good!
Not sure how casual/dressy your outfits are, but white sneakers (canvas or leather) might still be a good option.
It's probably going to be hard to find quality leather footwear in the sub-150 range, unless you can find second-hand.
Meermin is probably the most affordable, but their shoes tend to be fairly dressy, to my eye.
Sounds like Clark’s Wallabees might fit in nicely based on your description. White sneakers are always great to have as mentioned above, my pick is white high top PF Flyers but Reebok, New Balance are great too
Adidas stan smiths are my go to, but run pretty narrow.
I dont think I've ever seen Pf flyers in Europe
New Balance for sporty look or Derbies for a more classic /formal look
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've been side eyeing New Balances for a while, my sister suggested what I think are called 550's? Not sure, on picture the look beefy like the airforce, or are they actually sleeker?
574 if your budget is limited or 990 if you have a bigger budget
Not a huge fan of their style. Maybe Reebok club c and a pair of chucks in black. Those two are very budget friendly and would give me 2 pairs for the price of one fancier white sneaker

I've gone through some guides yes, why is the club c under ugly 🥲
Club c’s aren’t ugly
definitely not ugly, lol the title for that section is misleading af
They also included any NB 990's in that...
style is called ugly/dad shoes, it's not necessarily a bad thing
Thanks for the reassurance, is chalk still considered a white sneaker? Never had them but I kind of dig the vintage look
