How long for domain to become active?
Hi everyone! Just purchased a domain for personal use and was wondering how long it takes to become active? As of now if I try to navigate to the site it doesn't work. Any advice is appreciated

Typically anywhere from instantly to 96 hours, under the condition that everything is correctly configured.
Can you possibly share the domain name, so we can have a look at it?
Unfortunately I cant share it, but as it was just registered tonight I kind of figured it might just need some time
For some context it was unregistered prior to purchasing it on Cloudflare, and aside from adding a CNAME to redirect a google site to it, I havent done any other major thing in terms of setup

Register a new domain · Cloudflare Registrar docs
Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard and select your account.
Yeah it's there, it also appears on the ICANN lookup website
If the ICANN lookup website:
1. Does NOT show any
serverHold or clientHold under "Domain Status"
2. Shows up with the correct name servers (as seen near the bottom of https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns/records)
Then I would just wait and see.The domain status is listed as clientTransferProhibited, is this fine?
If that's the only one you have, that will be fine.

"Created" under Dates, ... does it match the time of when you attempted to register the domain?

I wouldn't worry and lean towards DNS propagation being the issue here 🙂
