@DrR0x
It says
Error while connecting: Connection timed out
. How did you enter the address, any typos?currently for some reason since updating to the newest core i am unable to acess ha via the local url or the ip adress so i have attempted to set the nqtt ip to the nabucasa url to no use
Oh, that will not work.
i seee alright i will keep this up and if i can get acess back through the ip and actually use the local ip i will see if it works
Maybe HA changed it's IP during the update?
its set as static the intergration of local ip is the same im not sure whats causing it
Not familiar with that GUI but the status toggle indicates it is online right?
Can you ping that address from your PC?
yes it is active iand i am unsure how to do that?
Oh, I love how just I just assume people know how to do low level network stuff. I have been doing this for too long.
The Plug

You can also check what IP HA is using (if the one the router says is not the actual one).
Settings - Network - Under Configure network interfaces, click the three dots and select IP information.
ah
Looks fine to me.
but
this too
like i said it would conneect before i restarted /installed the new core update so im not ure whats happening now
i fully rebooted it too but its the same
Have you tried another browser?
You could try download a MQTT client and use that to test to connect.
https://mqtt-explorer.com/
Not that it would help you accessing HA locally - I think you need to ask in the HomeAssistant Discord. Never heard of that problem.
i belive the cliant does not connect either (after somne time it says disconeced)
i belive this is correct?
Yes.
OK, I tried all I can think of.
If both hass.agent and mqttexplorer cannot connect it's 100% network "thingy"
Question now what
Can you do
tnc 192.168.1.157 -port 1883In powershell? (Powershell can be launched either the same way as cmd or within cmd console you just type "powershell") Is i recall someone once having similar issues and it was due to some reverse proxy/HA config but can't remeber what it was
Yeah, 100% network
Was there anything listed in changelog that may cause this? (Im using HA as docker container so out of the loop for this one)
ths is the changelog i dont notice anything specifically
I would say the network config of HASSOS is corrupt. Try to restore an earlier backup?
Just checked my backups (had a pending Core update) and the list was empty.

Still not fixed after half a year??
i was thinking of idk lik reverting to the old core backup it made as irt was installing the new one would that work?
could i just restor this and everything around it would stay the same?
Yes, everything will be the same as it was at that timestamp.
But try to revert a Home Assistant backup first?
Hm. That is a HA backup. Sorry, I am confused. ๐
i do not belive it is working still? ill give it a moment and message again in case t sytarts working
looks like its still not working
Do you have any full backups?
i doo i thankfully made one yesterday but i have i belive made quite a few automations since then which i assume would not stick around ?
I am looking at the size of my backups. The "Full backup" is much larger than the "Home Assistant" backups so was thinking it might contain HASSOS stuff. Don't really know though.
So I would try reverting to an older Full backup, and then revert to the latest Home Assistant one.
Btw, do you have tyhe SSH/Terminal addon installed?
yes i do
i will restore the back up hold on
its still not working???
ok well since i want my current automations and this is still not working i will rever back to the backup i made 10 minutes ago
Yup.
OK, read a little more stupid forum posts points me to hooking up keyboard and monitor to you Pi.
i am using a ha green
i totally forgot to mention that :p
Then you can reset the network - https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/blob/7e702a2ab2ee7e76ed7f3a1be6f98a3c832b557e/Documentation/network.md#reset-network

Yeah, it comes with HDMI output just for this, so should be no problem.
ah do i have to use the hdmi io cant do this from the pc/app?
This accesses the local HASSOS system, it's not the same as in the Terminal addon.
ahhhh
They made it SO hard to access stuff.
ok so i need to run each of these lines individually?
Yup.
I think you need to type
login
first though. Login is root
with no password.
If what I read is still valid.alright ill get to it
ah guess i need to connect a keyboard and mouse too
Keyboard is enough
Nice I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what but it's not outputing anything I think? Do I need to do something specifically
Yep no signal it's hooked directly to a TV through hdmi I thought it would just instantly show?
I thought ot would. Maybe it is one of those stupid things that requires it to be connected at power on. I only have HA Blue and HA Yellow so not sure. ๐
Ok so I should power it of and on I suppose I'll try that
Ah got it
Ok so I just have to type the lines above I assume without the hash?
If the propmt says ha> you need to login first.
It should give you the # as prompt.
And yes.
I've got this
Type
login
Name root
And just press Enter for passwordIt just gave a hash
Perfect. NOW you can type the commands. ๐
So many hoops to jump through.
I mean It didn't give a name or pass prompt?
Shoudl be fine
Cool so I'll just start typing the text now
Hm
Hm.
What does
nmcli con show "HassOS default"
show?Argh.
Guess you shouldn't trust internet... ๐ฌ
I wonder if you can reset it from the GUI, by simply select Static here and press Save?
like ythis? nothing seems to change
ill try give it a reeboot to see if anything changes
And then change it back after reboot.
Now I am REALLY out of ideas.
If ping works and they are on the same subnet I'd look at firewall
But I'm nit aware of HA hardware having some strange FW configs
i havent done anything anywhere though nothing has changed it worked before today i updated the core and now... nothing?
The root cause is the update I'd say
But as to what exactly happened
Might want to try restart the router.
You can try
firewall-cmd --list-allIn the HA console, at least this'll tell us is FW is there (or firewalld to be specific)
Ok so no firewalld
The local URL still doesn't work?
Which is why I suspected a corrupt network stack.
No local url no IP but cloud works fine
Have you tried accessing it from your phone?
Or another PC?
That works I was loading it you just reminded me hold on IL retry the pc
ok it works on phone but not on the pc?
he ip adress
And you are using http, not https on the PC?
But if it works on the phone using the local IP the issue is not in the HA Green.
the phone has lost connection though its taking ome time to recconnect hold on
nope ok now thats not working?
yea nope i started loading it on phone went away went back to it and it had leaded the dashboard but it disconnected and it wont reconnect
Don't forget to change back to Automatic in network settings.
Is your PC also connected over WiFi?
pc is ethernet into a wifi extender
And the Green?
also ehternet but ditectly into the router
Is the router the AP your phone is connected to?
its a mesh network so it could be..... that when it was directly connected to the router it worked but when i moved to the pc it connected to the wifi extender and is now not working? hold on
i restarted the green when its back up ill test it i guess
Solution
I would restart all network equipment. Had issues with my mesh where it lost connection from tiem to time.
alrighty then
andddd that workd
its working
wild
phones still not connecting but the pc is and thats the important part
Something is going on with your network! ๐
and now the agent has connected to mqtt
๐ฅณ
it seems so i dont know what happened or when
