What style of boots are these?
I’m new to boots. What style are these? What are good brands at various price points? Anything important to be observant of when looking for a pair, such as materials to look for (or avoid)?

These look like service boots to me. Iron rangers would be the classic model, at a mid price point. There are lots of red flags so it would be easier if you posted specific pairs you like and asked for opinions.
For the ones in your picture for example, the leather looks plasticky, the sole looks like a sneaker sole (crepe sole is the better version of this), not a fan of the grey fabric liner thing at the top.
