Any cloths repair experts?
Can this scarf be repaired? I was wondering if it might be possible to hand stitch and repair it or if it’s just worth buying a new scarf

I would use a couple of stitches to stop the tear from extending and be done with it. You might be able to have it re-weaved too, but that will require a specialist.
Sweet, I found it thrifting for $7 and figured it was worth buying with or without the little tear
Supposed burberry cashmere
Do you think it would be hard to make the stitches relatively invisible from a distance? Or will they probably stand out (never done a repair like this before)
shouldn't be too hard, I'd use a light brown thread and it should be fairly easy to hide.
the thing about a scarf is that it’s kind of perpetually moving, mending a small rip in the front of a shirt is a lot more complicated simply because it will always be getting seen when you’re wearing that shirt. if you feel reallly extra you could needle felt over the repair but i wouldn’t worry about just stitching it back up again
@pangram , just updating you both on how it turned out! my first time ever stitching something, and i think it looks fine for a scarf and I doubt anyone will notice it!

the underside definitely isn’t perfect, but from a distance you’ll never notice it
it looks fantastic! great work, and yes, nobody will notice. i could barely find the mend in the first photo and I knew what I was looking for.
☺️ thanks for the help! glad i got could (somewhat) restore it to its former glory
