A social media message Aggregator platform
Hello there!
I'm working on developing an app that acts as a central hub for users to connect with and manage their communications across various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The aim is to provide a unified interface where users can effortlessly view, send, and respond to messages, simplifying their social media interactions.
-> One primary challenge I'm encountering relates to integrations.
Are there APIs available from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn that can facilitate a smooth integration of their direct messaging functionalities?
Your input on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

hey, well AFAIK you can check this docs from Meta https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ and abt twitter (X) well it had its APIs nerfed recently, not sure if you heard
Meta for Developers

I have had bad experience with facebook apis
the documentation just isn’t sometimes right
and doesn’t let you do 95% of things you should REALLY be able to do on a social media api
@Liltripple_reid @Sr Izan
I went through the docs.
During my research, I delved into the Meta developer documentation. However, due to the extensive nature of the documentation, I found myself a bit confused.
Here's what I've understood so far:
1. To use the APIs, one must first create a developer account.
2. Subsequently, an app with a specific purpose must be created. In my case, the purpose is business-related as I intend to use Messenger's APIs.
3. There are separate documentation for Messenger, Instagram Messenger, and Conversation.
4. The Facebook Graph API seems to encompass everything, but I found it confusing.
5. Access tokens are required for pages how do I create them and also there are webhooks I'm facing configuration issue in this.
The above points are still understandable. however, I'm unclear about the following points:
- For a message aggregator platform that can be used by multiple users, does each user need to create a Facebook app and provide us with the app ID?
- Where can I find the Messenger API for sending and receiving messages in the app?
- If there are no apis available, how does https://trengo.com/products/social-messaging is able to create a social media aggregator platform?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Well that’s a pretty good question but since their app is closed source we can’t really see how they did it
It does looks like a very ambitious project
I think they’re maybe working around the APIs by creating a bot that can aggregate a users message? (Just thinking out loud)
@Liltripple_reid One approach that I think should work is guiding the users to create their apps as meta developers and then asking them for their access tokens. Once we have the access tokens we can use the meta's apis ig. If this works, then only thing will be left would be figuring out the apis for sending messages, and receiving/displaying them.
That could work as well, just like the tokens you get from GitHub (personal, server to server) btw @Antiarin I found this https://vessel.dev I think it’s aligned to what you’re working on up to certain point

Yes, I believe their features are currently unavailable, as both the book demo and login features aren't functioning
This is what I'm trying to create but it is focused only on social media, just like what apple does in call logs
