What's the best route for looking for turtlenecks?
Have a fake Polo Sport turtleneck that I picked up at a VVal for $10 a while ago and it's pretty cooked. What's the best route for getting something that holds its shape a little better?
Open to any shades, but cream, brown, and white are the main preferences? Less interested in the super thin cashmere/merino wool sweaters, want something with a little more weight.
Budget would be about $150 USD, but preference is between $1-50. Vintage is acceptable!

Kinda tricky question you're asking because every brand on earth makes a turtleneck but who makes the perfect one for you requires a bit more investigating
The two turtlenecks I've owned and loved longest have both been from uniqlo but I haven't seen either since, so they must switch up their offerings a lot. One is really hefty but the other is pretty light and form fitted. Otherwise I'd really recommend thrifting at your budget preference, if something can stand the test of time to make it to goodwill it's probably got some good structure and material behind it.
The Shetland brands (like jamieson's and Harley) make thicker turtlenecks tho I'm not sure if they'd be too thick for you?
I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find Shetland type turtlenecks secondhand (on like eBay)
Oddly enough they're kinda uncommon comparatively on eBay

Solid Interlock Jersey Turtleneck in Bisque
This is our homage to the vintage, interlock turtlenecks that were standard issue on Ivy League campuses and European film sets in The Sixties. Made from a soft yet solid jersey cotton that’s imported from Portugal, this is the turtleneck for the guy who loves the comfortable feel of a heavy-duty t-shirt but wants the
Has a decent weight to it, keeps its shape, but it's definitely not a chunky sweater type.
They also have a midweight turtleneck sweatshirt, but I don't have experience with that one.
