Flannel Trousers Leg Opening
Hi,
I'd really like grey flannel trousers and Berg & Berg has them on sale at $232 now (which isn't cheap obv.). The fabric and rise are perfect on these but the leg opening is only 8.1 in for sz EU 46 (it goes up with larger sizes which is really annoying).
Do ug think an 8.1 in leg opening is too small? Is it possible for a tailor to make the leg opening larger? My gabardine slacks have a leg opening of 8.5 in, how big of a difference is that vs 8.1?
Thank you!

Antonio Flannel Trousers - Mid Grey
Demonstrating the continued relevance of classic tailoring in today's world, our Antonio trousers are refined and urbane. Expertly made in Italy, and crafted from a substantial English flannel cloth, the Antonio trousers have a graceful silhouette that flatters all body types. A high rise and double reverse pleats visu
Oh wait they are out of stock in my size anyway now lol. Still curious tho
8.1 is not that small. Not wide by any means but certainly not super slim. Best way to get a sense of this is to put your garbardine slacks on, pinch about 1" of material (0.5" from each side) , and see how they feel
The trousers I'm wearing in this pic have an 8" leg opening
Also remember if you get them hemmed, the leg opening increases the higher up you cut
Very helpful thank you!
Good to know thank you!
Those trousers are very nice:)
Usually pretty negligibly though. Unless you're hemming half the pants off it would have to be a pretty extreme, sudden taper to drastically change the shape. In this video if you hem 12" off it's only a 0.25" difference https://www.tiktok.com/@theshopvancouver/video/7315571078170955013

That tracks, good call out
