Looking for Weird and Modern Derbies/Loafers/Smoking Slippers/Mules in patent, suede, or velvet
Based on some discussion in https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1193285507690549319 I'm thinking about adding some type of "weird" or "modern" formal shoe preferably in patent leather or velvet, but maybe suede, to my wardrobe and was curious about ideas from various people.
Some examples of things that caught my eye are these Acne Studios and Our Legacy options. The price point is very steep so I want to get both more options and ideas before I decide which shoes to chase. No explicit budget though, want to get ideas here just as much as figure out what to get.

Do your black and white loafers not already tick this box?
other ideas on the radar from meat: https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/marsell/white-alluce-estiva-loafers/11829631 / https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/marsell/white-alluce-estiva-loafers/11829631 and https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/dries-van-noten/black-slip-on-loafers/12128451
I mean this is partly to help integrate the pants into my wardrobe. I think the pants + loafers works but want more options, plus Bishop and Meat weren't huge fans of the look. Plus in general this is a hole in my wardrobe.
these pants:
though obviously i think they'll work with more than just that
I think there’s a place for a black shoe in your wardrobe fwiw not that you need it
Honestly I’d just get black paraboots
I’m kicking myself for getting dark brown ones instead of black
MFA core
I personally have a black derby gap lmao that I can put like 3 different shoes to try to fill but it’s not perfect
Black paraboots ain’t mfa core tho
Brown is
ya i own 0 derbies
or oxfords
i own 0 black boots as well

But I think this hot as hell
I'm not sure black derbies are the answer to making faux croc pants work
I also agree
With Sal
Also buying loud pieces to integrate other loud pieces is gonna spiral you outta control kinda quickly
I actually like the look with ur two tone loafers
Esp if you're explicitly thinking I will wear this one thing with this one other thing and nothing else
But chunky weird mules/derbies work with a lot of things
Looks so good with jeans for example
Ya I mean ideally they aren't shoes for just the pants and this is a hole in my wardrobe. While shoes to match the pants are part of this if they aren't versatile with the rest of my wardrobe I don't want them.
this is also future looking, I'm not planning on buying anything this month, and actually I'm planning on putting up another round of sales of things which ideally would help finance anything i go with and make room in my wardrobe
Ya if u don’t have any all black semi formal leather footwear I think it’s def worth a look into that
Or a single pair of black boots
Adieu paris may work? Decent sales on their stuff on ssense here and there
Don’t make me link the Fluevogs
Black zip boots would work with these
Those new 3sixteen joints would look great
