this describes how you can use keepass 2 as the authenticator app (with some windows-specific things)
keepass 2 is an offline password manager that lets you store the passwords and other secrets outside of any cloud - only you have access to it, even if the file is leaked

looks like a usefull thing... they do need to concider bringing in a designer
oh, yeah, the ui is absolutely horrible, but it is a very very very lightweight program
I wonder if this works with keeweb offline

well my institution doesn't allow for authenticators 🙂

Yeah they forced us to use phone number authentication after a data breach (possibly to limit risk over the holiday season) and now I have to sign in daily with mobile phone.
Its so infuriating
they have the right spirit, but the implementation ...
Yeah unfortunately all our personal information is already leaked, so...
but at least they improved safety ... somewhat
