Glam Formal Wedding Attire
I'm going to a hot weather destination wedding. The attire is "Glam Formal". Any advice? I'm terrible at fashion and style (I wear off the rack suits to work).
As examples they list colorful floor-length gowns, suits, loafers and comfortable heels.

Formal + floor length gowns would imply something like "very loud black tie." Do you have a velvet smoking jacket? Except that's difficult if it's hot as shit, especially if significant sunlight hours.
There are all manner of loud dinner jackets that might suit, problem is where the fuck else do you wear them? Maybe a Christmas party.
You could go classic and ivory.
If you don't think it means a black tie variant / you don't want to go that route...
Then the idea of a fairly loud suit makes sense to me. Doesn't have to be silk or silk blend, just weather appropriate and loud. Saturated if relatively normal colors can work, or desaturated loud colors can work, or go full loud in color, print, etc. For example, think saturated blue (saturated normal color), or dusty pink (desaturated loud color).
If you're trying to buy nothing, list what you own? Or on the flip side, do you want to buy stuff?
As more "buy nothing or almost nothing" options, think normal suit + loud tie for example.
Appreciate the reply and agree with this. I don't mind buying and my wardrobe is fairly limited. I really like the idea of saturated blue or dusty pink. Based on what I've heard from other wedding guests no one is going black tie variant.
List out at least the suits/jackets you own, let's see if you can save some money :)
Otherwise, a dusty pink sport coat is a nice piece of tailoring that can be worn casually to various summer events. I prefer it over the "very blue" suits some like, though the latter is more versatile.
