It may help to think of RR as a skill rating that has a tonne of restrictions on how fast it can move and when. For this reason, it's always trying to catch up on and converge on ur real skill. Also the quality of lobbies varies. If you're put up against a lower skill team, the game will punish you more if you lose. This is why you lose and gain different amounts of RR, and sometimes it seems inconsistent.
