The Tesla activities in the OpenSource field
Have you noticed the Tesla activities in the OpenSource field? https://service.tesla.com/roadster three PCBs are all ready to be downloaded, including gerbers and schematics. I am excited and eager to study them. I went through the Batter Monitoring thing and that thing is cool. They used the same components as we normally use. It made my day!

I'd love to get your thoughts on that topic. Have you watched the Tesla's 2023 Investor Day? I am aware that it is marketing material, but it still shows their excellence in the IoT field. Here you can find some more details:

The state-of-the-art IoT implementation at Tesla
Disclaimer: I do not have any relation with Tesla. To write this post, I used publicly available information shared by Tesla (mainly from the 2023 Investor Day). This is my personal interpretation of those materials.
Tesla 2023 Investor Day Recently I watched the Tesla 2023 Investor Day video on YouTube. It was a very interesting presentation on...
@LMtx I will check it asap.
A well-written article, @LMtx 👍 I am inclined to the Tesla side even more. Those boards I wrote about above are 16 years old. I suppose it does not matter much because the automotive industry is rather conservative. Your feeling about their IoT implementation quality makes me believe they really know what they are doing.
That Investor Day video made a huge impression on me. Even if they actually implemented half of the things they claimed, I have never seen a real production deployment of those concepts.
I will watch it, for sure. I put it in Watch later folder 😊
Hehehe, my watch later folder is redirected to the
/dev/null
as it was only growing bigger.@Zeke
I had a community GitHub repo channel in here a while back but took it out. Should I put something like that back for saving/sharing/quick reference of code or designs like this? :hmmmm:
Can you share the design files when you download, so we can study it simultaneously and maybe during one of our dev meetup we discuss and share thoughts on it.
Yes do. It will help the community. To save and share files for everyone
The files are now in the #📂-git-repos
Ok
Hi, @Petr Dvořák thanks for sharing. Just checked the Github repo. I'd appreciate it if you find time in the future to share your thoughts on those design files. Your expertise and wealth of knowledge will help me learn good design principles. I'm very curious to know more about the Tesla's H/W design practices. Thank you once again!
@Umesh Lokhande Thank you, but... who am I to evaluate Tesla company designs? 😁 I think the design are excellent because of the simplicity.
