is the style to tuck your shirt in always when wearing high waisted pants?
Recently picked up a pair of high waisted pants and it seems the trend is no matter the top, tuck it in?

i mean, use your best judgement. But if you want to show off your waist and play with your outfit's proportions, its flattering and can make your outfit more interesting. Personally I have shirts that I sometimes tuck in and sometimes leave untucked. Play with it, see what you like.

Even if i'm a tall guy (6'5), still go tucked? Most of my height is in my torso anyway, so maybe that helps a bit

I always tuck a shirt into high rise trousers
If it’s a long shirt, I normally tuck, however a tee or cropped shirt I might not. Really I just play around with the proportions a lot when I’m putting stuff on to see how I feel about it. Idk if any particular “rule” or guideline is helpful here, if anything it takes the fun out and stifles creativity
I'd say the advantage of high waisted pants is more that it gives you the option to tuck, so you kind of double your choices in that regard.
depends what im feeling but I do like tucking it in most times to give the look of taller legs
