You're better off using your arrow keys to aim while strafing and holding head height. You should only need to use the mouse if you're aiming at someone walking on a slope.

but i cant hit my shots then bc my crosshair moves @meeeee

Before you strafe, flick to their head and then beyond it, then strafe to get the crosshair on their head, then click. You can practice this in the range against stationary bots.

does that work? @meeeee

Yes. It's called overflicking and deadzoning.

alr ill try that hope i can get outta iron with this one ive gone 5 - 12 against an ascendant before does that prove anything or no

It's effective because vs someone who only uses the mouse to aim, you're in constant motion while aiming.

what if i strafe and miss
me
me7mo ago
Becuase you're in motion, it's less likely they'll have tagged you up. If you were stationary and missed, they'd click ur head w/o having to even track you.

ohh ig so if i miss what do i do

overflick strafe until ur crosshair is on their head then click you can keep repeating this until you get shot; then you won't be able to strafe anymore.

that is not true bro you should always aim to hit their head on your first bullet you do what you said any rank above gold and they will just shoot you before you finish strafing

We have way more time than we think to aim. Starting at gold actually, the first thing people do when they take a duel is strafe while trying to line up their first shot. If you deliberately overflick before this strafe, the movement will more likely land your crosshair on their head, and if you miss, you'll be able to rinse and repeat. If you just stand there, flick and click (unless you're a spin bot with perfect accuracy and timing), that's when you're opening yourself up to get outaimed or third partied.

no one said to flick and click and strafing before you shoot is not a good way to aim you take you first shots and then strafe to reposition why would you deliberately overflick if you can achieve the same affect by just bursting first, then strafing youll also get to shoot first which is huge in a gunfight

im practicing this in dm, i really dont need good aim or strafes/tracking i realized. ive been going like 0.7 kda with guardian to train discipline, its been going well

Nice. Try practicing with the sherrif, even.
As long as your mental can handle losing more duels to start, it's really good practice for when ur in a game with a more forgiving weapon. In a real game, you'll eventually just burst or even spray if you have Vandal. But with the practice you'll start on the head, incorporate movement and will survive until you give up and burst (if it gets to that). Hopefully it rarely gets to that. If ur surprised and prioritize clicking first, either that first shot will be inaccurate or you'll already be dead. If you move while you're surprised you'll be strafing out of their crosshairs while you're getting situationally aware. Like if you walk up to someone facing the other way or they're full flashed, line up and click M1, but this is if you're taking a fair duel. You can make it unfair by moving perpendicular to their line of sight then clicking when u know you'll be stationary.

you being surprised is a different issue. you should always aim to kill them on your first bullet faster than they can, which means shooting first then strafing to reposition mid fight if you miss if you strafe first then shoot in higher ranks they will just headshot you even if the original poster isnt high rank, its better to have them be comfortable with taking fights and to shoot first

thats one person who hasnt had any success in pro play poppin swing doesnt even work have the time if it was a better method you would see it more everythere theres a reason why hes the only one doing it

Honestly we're not helping anyone get better at pro play. This is a ranked discussion. In pro play it's not about just winning duels. It's about trying to define where the play is and gain info over mechanics. Like only when it's clear that you have a mechanical advantage do you pivot to just demoralising the enemy team.

talking banana watcher 👀 the idea is that whenever you are aiming you are also strafing to make it more difficult for the enemy to hit you when you are ready to shoot, you stop so poppin swing is basically an exaggerated version of how you would swing normally but instead of shooting back when the enemy shoots, you are shooting back when you see your crosshair on their head

what the other person was saying is you should overflick and then strafe, which i disagreed to. we werent talking about peeking since you would obviously already be strafing. the conversation was just about normal gunfights, which i why i was saying you should aim for head and shoot first, then you strafe and reposition mid fight is you miss
