trouble installing on Alienware m17
So I am trying to get Bazzite onto my wife's Alienware. My other computers are AMD and Intel, so I haven't dealt with Nvidia stuff yet.
I run the installer and if I select Bazzite Gnome Nvidia, it hangs on a blank screen when it launches the Anaconda GUI. I have to use the basic graphics mode.
Once there, I get through the setup and start installation, but then it hangs/fails on deploying the image after partitioning the drive. Photo of the error message after about 30 mins of nothing happening.
Any ideas on how to progress?

are you connected to the internet when you're installing it?
Yes, I specifically connect to the wifi, says connected, shows the lan IP, and timezones/ntp setup works
Looks like it might be some kind of IPv6 or DNS issue. I'll debug more tomorrow. Same thing happens on 38 it just errors.in 30s so I can actually see why it errors
I might try install silverblue official and then rebasing to bazzite
its what we would recommend as the netinstaller for bazzite is still pretty flaky, especially with wifi as the connection has to be very very very good and reliable
I’d suggest that. Your network seems like it’s dropping for unknown reasons
or dropping enough for the installer/anaconda to freak out
It's not dropping per say, but it's ignoring my IPv6 disable setting and still setting up IPv6. ghcr.io does not have AAAA records, so it fails to connect over IPv6.
Then when I finally got it to prefer ipv4 its getting an IP for ghcr.io that doesn't match
dig
output.
Something wonky
And Silverblue refuses to boot to installer probably for the same reason as Bazzite image. Get stuck loading the window manager
Need to figure out why, or use Fedora 38, as that loads fine
Just using basic graphics mode, found it under troubleshooting
So close, yet so far. Fedora installed, I rebased successfully. It reboot, did kargs update, now it just boots to a black screen
